On 1/5/2025 at approximately 1548 hours responded to Domestic disturbance in the area of Zircon Ct in Nikiski. Investigation revealed David Custer Jr., age 33 of Nikiski, recklessly placed family membrs in fear of imminent physical injury. David was subsequently arrested for 2 counts of Assault 4, and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial facility where he was held without bail.

Location: HomerType: Arson / Criminally Negligent Burning / VCOR / Disorderly ConductDispatch Text:
On 1/4/2025, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point, Homer Police Department (HPD), Kachemak Emergency Services Association (KESA), and Homer Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD) responded to a residence on East End Road for a report of a structural fire. The fire was quickly controlled, however the residence was mostly consumed. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Kimberly Ketter, age 41 of Homer, for Arson. Ketter was remanded to Homer Community Jail on 1x count each of Arson in the 2nd Degree, Criminally Negligent Burning in the 2nd degree, Violating Conditions of Release, and Disorderly Conduct. Ketter was held without bail, pending arraignment.

On 01/05/2024 AST conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a equipment violation in the area of Hollywood and Edelweiss. The investigation showed that Robert Pokorny age 58 of Wasilla was currently not compliant with the sex offender registry and already had a prior conviction of failure to register. Robert was remanded to Matsu Pretrial for failure to register as a sex offender in the first degree and given no bail.

On 01/04/2025 at approximately 2153 hours AST responded to a residence in Wasilla due to obtaining information that John Boyle, age 58 of Wasilla, was located at the residence. John was wanted for a $250 Cash Performance warrant for violating a protective order. John was located at the residence and placed into custody. Further investigation also revealed John had communicated with the complainant of the protective order earlier in the day. John was transported to Mat-Su pretrial and remanded on the warrant and the additional charges of violating a protective order, and unlawful contact in the first degree.

On 01/04/2025 at approximately 1933 hours, AST responded to a report of a disturbance in Wasilla. Further investigation revealed Cheyenne Boyle, age 22 of Wasilla, had assaulted a victim at the residence. Cheyenne was transported to Mat-Su pretrial and remanded on charges of Assault 4 DV.

On 01/05/2025 at approximately 1314 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Big Lake Road in Big Lake. Investigation revealed Brian Corey, age 43 of Talkeetna, was driving while license revoked. Corey was arrested and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

On January 4, 2025, at 6:08 pm, Alaska State Troopers were notified that a snow machine with two juvenile riders, drove into an open hole on the Kuskokwim River, approximately 8 miles up river from Kalskag. One of the juveniles was able to get out but the other juvenile, identified as Cole Gilila, 15 years old, disappeared under the ice. The juvenile that got out of the river was taken to the Kalskag clinic by a truck that was traveling on the ice road. He was evaluated at clinic and they reported that he was cold but uninjured. Search and Rescue volunteers launched from both Kalskag and Aniak. At approximately 8:00 pm, SAR personnel recovered Gilila's remains from the river. The remains are being transported to Aniak and will be transported to the SME for autopsy. Next of kin has been notified.

On 01/05/2025 a Trooper identified a vehicle frequently driven and occupied by Kyle Beard. The Trooper had prior information Beard had a warrant out for his arrest and the vehicle conducted a lane violation. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Kyle Beard, was arrested on his warrant at 0350 hours without incident and transported to FCC.

On 01/05/2025 at 0103 hours Troopers took the report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was KHF647/AK, a 2022 gray Dodge Challenger. It was reported to have been stolen the morning of December 29th, 2024. This investigation is ongoing.

On January 5, 2025, at approximately 0205 hours, the Alaska State Trooper initiated a traffic stop near Old Richardson Highway. The driver was identified as Les Standifer, and further investigation revealed that Les had a revoked operator's license. Les was issued a summons to appear in court for driving while revoked.

On 1/5/2025, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop for speeding/ lane violation at Lathrop St and 30th Ave in the city of Fairbanks. Troopers conducted SFSTs on the driver, detected impairment, where after the driver was arrest for DUI. The vehicle was impounded and one passenger was taxied home.

On 01/04/2025, Alaska State Troopers (AST) in Galena received a report of an assault in Kaltag. AST responded via state aircraft and investigation revealed Thomas Cook III (age 24 of Kaltag) committed one count of Assault in the Third Degree (DV), one count of Assault in the Fourth Degree (DV) and one count of Violation of Conditions of Release (VCOR).
