    Location: Ketchikan
    Type: Warrant Arrest, VCOR

    Dispatch Text:

    On 01/25/2022 at about 2343 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted a suspicious male on Ketchikan Lakes Road.  Investigation revealed that the male Roderick May, age 40 of Ketchikan had an outstanding warrant for his arrest reference PTRP.  May was also found to be on Felony Probation and listed as an Absconder.  Further investigation revealed that May was violating current conditions of release set by the Ketchikan Courthouse by being in possession of drug paraphernalia and alcohol.  May was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $5,000.  AST would like to thank Ketchikan Police Department and the Saxman VPSO for their assistance and fast response.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 01/26/2022 at 0033 hours, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a family member being assaulted by another family member in Soldotna. Investigation revealed, Alexander Johnson age 38 of Soldotna, assaulted a family member. Johnson was arrested and remanded at Wildwood Correctional Facility for Assault 4th degree.

    Type: Vehicle Operator Fail to Notify State of Big Game Animal Killed by Vehicle / False Information / VCOR

    Dispatch Text:

    On 01/25/22 at 2359 hours, Soldotna AST conducted a traffic stop on a silver 2006 Dodge Dakota for a speeding violation near milepost 26 of the Kenai Spur Highway. The driver and passenger were identified as Brian S. Todd (50 YOA of Nikiski) and Jennifer D. Flyum (48 YOA of Palmer). Subsequent investigation revealed just prior to being traffic stopped Todd had fatally struck a moose with his vehicle near milepost 23 of the Kenai Spur Highway and failed to report it. Todd was issued a misdemeanor summons for Vehicle Operator Fail to Notify State of Big Game Animal Killed by Vehicle. Flyum was arrested and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility for False Information and Violating Conditions of Release as she provided AST a false name and failed to report to Pretrial Enforcement Division Supervision Office on 01/24/22 as ordered by the Palmer Courts.

    Type: Unlawful Contact 1st degree Domestic Violence/Violation of Conditions of Release

    On 1/25/22 at 1330 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence off 5 mile Holt Lamplight Rd in Nikiski for a report Jayson Elijah Sanchez, 23 of Ninilchik, was in contact with a female victim of an assault. Investigation confirmed Sanchez was in contact with his victim at the house and in violation of conditions of release that he not be in contact with the female. Sanchez was arrested and remanded at Wildwood pretrial on charges of Unlawful Contact 1st degree DV and Violation of Conditions of Release (for a misdemeanor).

    On 1/25/22 at 1600 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence off Island Lake Rd. near Mark Blvd in Nikiski. While at the residence contact was made with David Scott Hoeldt, 42 of Nikiski. Investigation revealed Hoeldt had an outstanding arrest warrant for a Probation Violation. Hoeldt was arrested and remanded at Wildwood pretrial with a $2500 + court appointed third party custodian.

    On 1/26/22 at 1600 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Robinson Loop Rd. near Higher Ground in Sterling. Investigation revealed the driver, Rachel Ann Thomas, 38 of Kenai, was driving with a Revoked Drivers License. Thomas was issued a misdemeanor citation for Driving With a Revoked License (with prior convictions) and released.

    On 1/26/22 at 1630 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Robinson Loop Rd. near Full Circle in Sterling. Investigation revealed the driver, Robert Louis Maal, 49 of Sterling, was driving with a Revoked Drivers License. Maal was issued a misdemeanor citation for Driving With a Revoked License (with prior convictions) and released.
