On 10/09/2026 at 2124 hours AST, received a report near the Ciechanski neighborhood of a two-vehicle collision in which a vehicle rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign. While AST was en route, a witness reported that the driver of the at-fault vehicle was trying to leave the scene and was possibly intoxicated. AST arrived on scene and contacted the suspect,35 yoa Joseph Aho, who was actively attempting to leave the scene and who later resisted arrest and assaulted a trooper. Further investigation revealed that Joseph was under the influence of Alcohol and had caused pain to the two occupants of the vehicle that he had rear-ended. Joseph was placed under arrest and remanded to Wildwood on multiple charges, including Assault, DUI, resisting arrest,V-cor and leaving the scene of an accident.

On 10/10/2026 at approximately 0828 hours, AST received a 911 call from the Ninilchik area, and a disturbance was heard during the call before dispatchers were able to talk with anyone. AST responded to the residence and subsequent investigation revealed that Kassie Dobmeier (43 YOA) of Ninilchik had assaulted a family member. Dobmeier was arrested for assault in the 4th degree – Physical DV and transported to Homer Jail with no bail.

On October 9, 2026, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a deceased individual at a residence off Old Steese Highway North. Following the investigation, it was determined that Karin Debaun had passed away in her home. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin have been notified.

On 10/09/2026 at 2053 hours AST received a report of a single vehicle rollover on the Clear Access Road. Investigation determined Gregory Ashley was under the influence of alcohol and crashed his vehicle. During treatment he made repeated threats to EMS personnel and their families. A search warrant was obtained, and Gregory's blood was collected for analysis. Gregory was remanded to FCC following medical clearance for DUI, Assault 4th, DWLR, and Assault 3rd (x3). He was held without bail pending arraignment. AST would like to thank Clear Space Force Base Security Forces, Clear FD, and Anderson Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance in this incident.

At approximately 0215 hours on 10 October 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to the intersection of Chena Pump Road and Chena Small Tracts Road for a vehicle collision.
Troopers located an abandoned Jeep Compass bearing AK tag LKZ110 crashed and abandoned, blocking Chena Pump Road. Footprints led away from the vehicle.
Investigation continues.

On October 10, 2026, at approximately 0110 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a 911 hang-up call at a residence and contacted Justin Garlitz along with his girlfriend. Investigation revealed that Garlitz had intentionally damaged his girlfriend's iPhone 16 Pro Max during an argument, which caused the device to activate an emergency call. Garlitz was determined to have committed Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree under AS 11.46.482(a)(1), as the value of the damage exceeded $750.

On October 10, 2026, at 12:31 pm, Alaska Wildlife Troopers received a report of an avalanche near Eklutna Lake. Two people were injured as a result of the avalanche. RCC responded and was able to rescue both individuals and transport them to a local hospital.
