On 10/12/2026 at approximately 0046 hours, AST received a report of a single-vehicle collision near a residence off N Bettina Wy in Wasilla. Troopers responded and investigation revealed that Dustin Emory, age 20 of Wasilla, had driven while under the influence of alcohol. Dustin was arrested and remanded to MSPT for DUI.

On 10/11/2026 AST responded to a disturbance at a residence in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Robert Mennis (36 years old) caused property damage in the residence. Robert was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su pre-trial where his bail was set at no bail.

On 10/12/2026 AST conducted a traffic stop, for an equipment violation, on a vehicle operated by Kristopher Boldt (35 years old) of Sutton. Investigation revealed Kristopher was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Kristopher was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su pre-trial where his bail was set at OR.

On October 12, 2026, at approximately 1550 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) call on the Palmer–Wasilla Highway. The reporting party observed a blue Toyota Tacoma failing to maintain its lane and repeatedly braking in an unsafe manner.
Troopers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Troopers pursued the Tacoma as it continued to drive dangerously and recklessly toward the Glenn Highway. The driver weaved through traffic, passed vehicles on the shoulder, ran multiple red lights, and reached speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour.
The pursuit continued until the vehicle came to a stop near the Peters Creek exit. The driver and sole occupant, Alexis Nelson, age 29, of Wasilla, was taken into custody without further incident. Nelson was arrested for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer and was transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

At approximately 0600 hours on 11 October 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of Secluded Drive in North Pole reference a vehicle theft of two dirt bikes.
One bike was recovered on Secluded Drive, and one later recovered by North Pole Police after fleeing a traffic stop.
Investigation continues.

On 10/12/2026, AST responded to a residence in North Pole for a report of a disturbance. Troopers contacted Kelly Hoffman (44 YOA) of North Pole. Upon speaking with Kelly and other household members, it was determined that Kelly had been drinking alcohol. Kelly is on probation and is ordered not to consume, possess, or purchase alcohol. Kelly was arrested and remanded to FCC without incident for a probation violation.

On 10/12/2026 at 13:46 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to Beaver Sports in Fairbanks for a reported robbery. The investigation determined that Daniel Schwietert, 25 of Fairbanks, committed the crimes of robbery in the 1st Degree, misconduct involving a weapon in the 3rd Degree, and assault in the 3rd Degree. Daniel was placed under arrest and remanded to FCC.

On October 10,2026, 4:35 pm, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a sexual abuse of a minor in Napakiak. The Alaska State Troopers Western Major Crimes Unit took over case responsibility. Investigation revealed William Gibson Smith, age 30, of Napakiak, sexually abuse a minor earlier that day. Smith is also on active parole and probation for DV SAM2 which occurred in 2017 and he was convicted in 2021. WMCU and Bethel patrol responded to Napakiak but was unable to locate Smith. On October 12, 2026, Smith was arrested by TPOs and troopers responded to Napakiak to transport him to YKCC where he was held without bail.
