      On 10-21-2021 at 0029 hours, The Soldotna AST K-9 Team conducted a traffic stop near Mile 95 of the Sterling Highway on a maroon 2004 Nissan SUV. The driver was identified as Bret T. Dickson, 55 YOA of Soldotna. An APSIN check revealed Dickson’s Operators License is revoked for DUI. Investigation revealed Dickson was driving under the influence. Dickson was arrested for DUI and DWLR and was transported and processed to Wildwood Pretrial.

    On 10/21/2021 at approximately 0022 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a reported vehicle stuck in the ditch near milepost 49 Sterling Highway with a suspected intoxicated driver.  Investigation revealed the driver, Spencer Anthony Maes, age 21 of Anchorage, was driving the truck, a green 1999 Dodge Ram, while impaired and under the influence of alcohol.  He was arrested for DUI and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

    On 10/20/2021 at approximately 2130 hours Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a disturbance in Nikiski. Following investigation Jared Coble, age 21 of Nikiski, was arrested for assault in the 4th degree domestic violence. Coble was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial.

    On 10/21/21, at 0755 hours, AST stopped a 2011 Chevy Cruz for running a red traffic signal at PWH and Hemmer Road in Palmer.  Subsequently the driver, Ivan A. Kojin, 39 yoa of Wasilla, was arrested on a $1000 outstanding warrant out of Homer and issued a mandatory court appearance citation for driving on a revoked license.  Kojin was remanded to MSPT on the warrant.

    On 10/21/2021 Alaska State Troopers and Court Service Officers assigned to Palmer Judicial Services assisted the victim of a DV Crime in collecting items from a home on Limberlost Drive in Wasilla.  Once on scene it was discovered that the suspect, Jeremy Kosbruk, age 34 of Wasilla, was on scene and hiding in the residence.  Kosbruk had multiple misdemeanor and felony warrants for his arrest.  AST Patrol and K9 Blitz responded to the scene.  A search warrant was applied for and granted.  The residence was searched with the assistance of K9 Blitz and Kosbruk was located hiding in a bedroom under a pile of dirty clothes.  Kosbruk was arrested for his warrants.  Kosbruk was wanted for a no bail parole warrant for a parole violation on the original offenses of robbery 2nd, burglary 1st, assault 3rd, assault 3rd, MIW 3rd, MIW 3rd, failure to register as a sex offender 2nd, a no bail warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation on the original charge of robbery 2nd, assault 3rd x’s2, MIW 3rd, a $1000.00 warrant for fail to comply with conditions of probation on the original charge of SAM 2nd Degree and a $2000.00 warrant for assault 4th degree reckless injury.  Kosbruk was remanded to Mat Su Pretrial.  The homeowner, Carlton Pettit III, age 49 of Wasilla, was arrested for hindering prosecution 1st degree and a probation violation.  He was remanded to Mat Su Pretrial where he was held without bail pending arraignment.

    On 10/19/2021 at approximately 0629 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft from vehicle at an address on Lupine Way in Wasilla. During the investigation, Troopers developed a lead on the location of a possible suspect. On 10/20/2021 at approximately 1200 hours, AST and the Palmer Criminal Suppression Unit located the suspect vehicle at the Palmer Fred Meyer parking lot. Troopers located William Coulombe, age 29 of Wasilla, and Julia Santana, age 24 of Palmer in the vehicle with property from the theft call. Further, Coulombe was in possession of a handgun and he is convicted felon. The handgun had the serial number removed as well. Coulombe was in possession of 4 other person's credit cards. On 10/21/2021, CSU served additional search warrants and located another firearm as well as evidence of over 30 theft cases to include multiple credit cards and IDs. Multiple controlled substances were also located. Both Santana and Coulombe were remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility of Theft and Criminal Trespass charges. Coulombe was also charged with MIW III x2 and Criminal Impersonation x4. Further charges for MICS, Theft, Fraud, Criminal Impersonation are expected.

    Update 10/28: On October 21, 2021 at approximately 1911 hours the Alaska State Troopers in the Mat-Su Valley were requested to complete a welfare check at a residence in Wasilla. During the course of the welfare check, Troopers located 70-year-old Wasilla resident Eugene Haberman deceased inside of his residence. There is no foul play suspected at this time, and the death appears to be from natural causes. Next of kin has been notified.

    Original: On 10/21/2021 at approximately 1911 hours, The Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Engstrom Rd. in Wasilla for a welfare check. An elderly male had been located in the residence deceased. Next of kin attempts is currently in progress. No foul play in expected.

    Barbara Simeon, age 50, called from Anchorage to report her daughter Arliss Simeon, age 35 of Aniak, was intoxicated at Barbara's house in Aniak causing a disturbance. Trooper responded and during the investigation, Arliss assaulted a trooper. She was arrested and charged with assault and viloating conditions of release stemming from the original felony case 4AK21-00022CR. She was transported and remanded to the Yukon Kuskokwin Correctional facility where she was held for arraignment.

    Dispatch Text:

    On October 19, 2021 at approximately 1830 hours, an Alaska State Trooper attempted to stop a black SUV for driving without headlights near mile 35 of the Elliot Highway. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit the driver attempted to drive at an occupied marked Trooper vehicle before swerving just before impact. A short distance later Troopers were able to deploy stop sticks which disabled the vehicle. As the vehicle came to a stop the driver fled into the woods on foot. Troopers and a K9 were able to track the suspect in the wooded area, and arrested 32-year-old Fairbanks resident Jeremy Edwards and remanded him to Fairbank Correctional Center on charges of Felony Eluding, Assault III on a Peace Officer x2, and reckless driving.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    On October 21, 2021, at approximately 2:50 pm, Alaska Wildlife Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a white KIA for Failure to Use Turn Signal near the intersection of Palmer-Fishhook Road and Trunk Road. Subsequent investigation resulted in 35 year old Palmer resident Alfredo O. Martinez being arrested for an outstanding $750 Misdemeanor warrant for Failure to Appear, original charge of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OUI) out of Anchorage Police Department. Alfredo was also issued a Summons for Improper Use of Plates and a Summons for Criminal Mischief V. Both Summons carry a mandatory court date of November 23, 2021 at the Palmer Court. Lastly, he was issued a citation for Failure to Use Turn Signal with a fine of $95 and a citation for Failure to Carry and Exhibit License on Demand with a fine of $70. The vehicle was impounded pending further investigation.

    On 10/20/2021, at approximately 1237 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Cantwell were notified of a possible bear mauling that occurred on 10/19/2021, at approximately 0930 hours. The victim stated he was riding his bicycle alone along the riverbed of the Jack River, which is near the confluence of the Nenana River. The victim estimates he was approximately 400 yards from the Parks Highway around MP 215. He reported seeing a brown bear 10-15 yards away, running towards him. The victim stated that he jumped off his bicycle and began yelling at the bear. Just prior to the bear making contact, the victim fell to the ground and onto his back, covered his head and believes he kicked at the bear. The bear made contact and bit the victims lower right leg, just below his knee. The bear made one contact and one bite then immediately retreated into the vegetation the same way it approached. After the bear left the area, he walked to the highway and called a friend for a ride. The victim stated he went to the Healy Medical Clinic for treatment of puncture wounds and a laceration, and did not seek further medical treatment. The victim stated he did not notice anything out of the ordinary prior to the mauling but did say he noticed bear tracks in the snow. He believes the bear was alone and approximates the bears weight at 500lbs. He was carrying a firearm but did not discharge the weapon. No additional response or investigation is required at this time.

    On 10/20/21 Keith CHICHENOFF, 59 YO of Kodiak, AK, was issued a citation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Kodiak Post, for retaining an over limit of silver salmon. Chichenoff retained four silvers when the limit is two. Bail is set at $160.00 in the Kodiak Courts.
