    Location: Ketchikan
    Type: Warrant Arrest, VCOR, Hindering Prosecution 1st Degree, False Information

    Dispatch Text:

    On 10/23/2021 at about 2120 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a black Ford near the 1100 Block of Stedman Street.  The vehicle was stopped for speeding.  Investigation revealed that the passenger Jeannie Gaube, age 19 of Ketchikan had an outstanding warrant for her arrest.  Gaube was also found to be violating conditions of release set by the Ketchikan Courthouse by being in possession of drug paraphernalia.  The original charge stems for Fraud Use of Access Device and Theft 2nd Degree. Further investigation revealed that the driver Roger Suckinaw, age 38 of Ketchikan provided false information to Police and hindered prosecution.  Gaube was arrested and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center on her outstanding warrant and VCOR with bail set at $500.00.  Suckinaw was arrested for Hindering Prosecution 1st Degree and False Information with No Bail.  Suckinaw was also issued traffic citations for DWLR, Speeding, and Fail to Show Proof of Insurance. AST would like to thank United States Forst Service Law Enforcement for their assistance with the investigation.

    On 10/24/2021 at 0017 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation in Kenai. Investigation revealed the driver, Nicholas Bernier, 29 of Kenai, had a revoked license with a (prior conviction). Subsequent investigation revealed Bernier was on conditions of release and he had violated his conditions of release by driving with a revoked license. Bernier was arrested and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility for driving while license revoked and violating conditions of release.

    Type: DUI/ Reckless Driving

    On 10/23/21 at approximately 0340 hours, an AST Trooper stopped a 2019 Ford F150 for driving at a high rate of speed near the area of Church and Machen. The vehicle was driving in excess of 80 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver was identified as Simon Gilman (18) of Wasilla. The investigation revealed Gilman had been drinking and was arrested. Gilman was later issued a summons and released with a pending court date. Gilman's vehicle was impounded.

    On 10/24/2021 at approximately 0244 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Sullivan Ave near Alaska Raceway Park.  Investigation revealed the driver Laureta Kochuten, age 18 of Palmer was operating a motor vehicle after consuming an alcoholic beverage.  Kochuten was processed for DUI and released on her own recognizance with a court date.  Kochuten’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Location: Talkeetna
    Type: DUI, Leaving the Scene of a MVC, Misuse of Plates

    Dispatch Text:

    On 10/21/2021, at approximately 1857 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision near mile 8 of Talkeetna Spur. Investigation revealed, Lindy M. Tubb, age 39, of Talkeetna, lost control of her 2001 Dodge Durango on icy roads and rolled the vehicle into the ditch. Further investigation revealed Tubb was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, left the scene without reporting the accident, and intentionally used the wrong license plates on the vehicle. Tubb was arrested and processed for DUI. She was subsequently provided a court date and released with misdemeanor citations for Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of a Collision, and Misuse of Plates.
