On November 22, 2024 at approximately 1722 hours, AST responded to a Wasilla residence in response to a 911 call reporting a disturbance in the home. Investigation revealed that Leonard Jones, 71 years old of Wasilla, had recklessly placed a family member in fear of imminent physical injury during the disturbance. Jones was placed under arrest and remanded to Mat Su Pre-Trial on one charge of Fourth Degree Assault (Domestic Violence) where he was held without bail.

On November 21, 2024, at 10:50am, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a downed Cessna 207, owned and operated by Iliamna Air Taxi. The pilot and sole occupant managed to make an emergency landing on an unnamed frozen pond/lake near where lower Talarik creek flows into Lake Iliamna. No injuries were reported. The pilot remained in contact with his dispatch and was prepared for weather conditions. AST coordinated with the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and the United States Coast Guard which resulted in the pilot being transported by the USCG in good condition to the Iliamna clinic. FAA and NTSB have been notified.

On 11/21/2024 the Alaska State Troopers received a tip on a location of a stolen Ford Mustang. The vehicle was observed to be a older model Ford Mustang that was spray painted white/silver. Troopers responded to the location and located the vehicle on Dennis Road in North Pole. Prior to the Trooper activating his emergency lights the vehicle began to drive at a high rate of speed. Troopers attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle failed to yield for approximately 3.5 miles before getting stuck and fleeing on foot on Jeffery Drive in North Pole. This case is still under investigation. AST requests if any residents in the area of Peede Road and Jeffery Drive that contacted a male to contact AST at 907-451-5100.

On November 21, 2024, at approximately 2145 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of Goldhill Road for a disturbance. During the investigation, Jesse May, age 31 of Fairbanks, was identified and arrested on four outstanding warrants. Jesse was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

On November 21, 2024, the Alaska State Troopers Criminal Suppression Unit was conducting a patrol of the Old Steese Hwy/College Rd. area. At approximately 1610 hours, CSU Troopers spotted Jarrett Tritt in the area of the Bentley Mall. Tritt had an outstanding $2500 felony arrest warrant for Theft 2nd Degree (4FA-24-02205CR). Troopers were also aware that Tritt was suspect in multiple theft incidents throughout the Fairbanks community in recent weeks that had resulted in a felony indictment for Theft 2nd Degree that same day.
CSU Troopers attempted to contact Tritt, at which point he fled on foot through the parking lot of the Bentley Mall. CSU Troopers gave chase and ultimately apprehended Tritt. Tritt was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On 11/22/24 AST contacted an individual for an infraction. The male was found to be intoxicated and armed with a handgun which he did not disclose to AST. Male attempted to reach for the handgun multiple times. AST established safe control of the male preventing him from reaching for the firearm. Additional Troopers arrived and were able to safely remove the firearm from the individual. The individual was identified as Alexander Erlich out of Fairbanks. He was remanded at FCC on two counts of Assault 3, MIW4, MIW 5, VCOR and Disorderly Conduct.

On 11/22/2024 it was reported that an enclosed trailer and snowmachine were taken from the area of Airline Dr. around 11/20/2024 sometime at night. The Trailer is an enclosed Triton trailer, the cap is white. There is no license plate on the trailer. The snowmachine inside the trailer is a Blue 2012 Arctic Cat Bearcat 570. Both items have been listed as stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

On 11-22-24, Delta Junction AST received a report of a theft of several tools from a building site near Nistler Rd. There were several Milwaukee and Dewault tools and equipment taken. The investigation is on going.

On November 22, 2024, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle theft at 288 Rambling Rd. trailer park. Fairbanks Patrol and the Criminal Suppression Unit responded. A vehicle was reported to have been stolen from a resident who was asleep inside. After the victim was aware their vehicle had been stolen, the suspect returned the vehicle after hearing that the victim would contact Troopers. Troopers responded to a trailer that the suspect was reported to be staying inside of and attempted contact without response. Troopers obtained a search warrant for the residence and executed the warrant, ultimately contacting Wilton Villa, 37, of Anchorage. Villa was placed under arrest for Vehicle Theft 1st Degree and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.
