Location: Anchor PointType: REDDI report, DUI, Assault 3rdDispatch Text:
On 12/4/24 at 1558 hours, Troopers received multiple 911 calls reporting a REDDI vehicle traveling northbound on the Sterling Highway from mile 154. The REDDI vehicle was reported to be going into the oncoming lane of traffic and had forced two vehicles to go into the oncoming lane of traffic to avoid a collision. Troopers located the REDDI vehicle at the Happy Valley Store and contacted the driver, James Kraszeski 26 of Ninilchik. An investigation showed Kraszeski was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested. Kraszeski was transported and remanded into the Homer Jail on charges of DUI and Assault 3rd.
Troopers were able to contact the driver of one of the vehicles Kraszeski forced into the oncoming lane of traffic near mile 148 of the Sterling Highway but are still looking for the second. On 12/05/2024 Alaska State Troopers contacted Joshua Rogers, age 29 of Colorado, in the parking lot of the Wasilla UPS Store. Following the investigation Rogers was arrested for an active fully extraditable arrest warrant from Colorado (o/c Fail to comply with probation), Misconduct involving a weapon in the third degree, Misconduct involving a weapon in the fifth degree, and Misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fifth degree. Rogers was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial and held without bail.

On 12/05/2024 at approximately 2030 hours, MATCOM received a report of a domestic disturbance located near South Village Street and Hollywood Road in Wasilla. AST contacted Olesa A Zagharova, age 43 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Zagharova damaged a window in the residence where she lived with another family member during the incident. Zagharova was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the 5th degree, per Domestic Violence, and remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial where she was held no bail.

On December 5, 2024, at 5:20am, Alaska State Troopers responded to a head on collision at mile 15.5 of Knik Goose Bay Rd. Upon arrival AST located two vehicles, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup with two persons and a Toyota Sequia with one person. The female passenger of the Chevrolet pickup was declared deceased at the scene and is identified as Delynn Brouillet, age 64, of Anchorage. The male driver of the Chevrolet pickup sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota Sequia sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Initial investigation determined that the Chevrolet pickup lost control on the icy roadways and colliding head on with the Toyota Sequia. It was determined the two occupants of the Chevrolet pickup were not wearing seatbelts. Road conditions at the time of the collision were freezing rain with ice accumulating while the investigation was conducted. Weather is a major factor in this collision and the investigation is ongoing. Next of kin has been notified.

On 12/04/2024, at approximately 2336 Hours, AST received a report of a domestic disturbance in the area of E. Steven Dr. in Wasilla. AST responded, and through investigation, it was determined that Camden Reeves age 28-years-old had committed the crime of Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree for damages to property. Camden was placed under arrest and transported to Palmer Pretrial, remanded, and held without bail.

Knik Goose Bay Road is closed in both directions at mile 15.5 (near Gleason Lane) due to a serious vehicle collision. The roadway is expected to be closed for multiple hours as Troopers document the scene and clear the vehicles and debris from the roadway. There is no detour around this closure. On 12/5/24, at 0907 hours, a home owner contacted AST Dispatch reporting her chimney flue was overheating. Tok Fire Department, AST, & VPSO were dispatch to the incident . The fire investigation determine the fire was contained to the flue pipe causing zero fire dollar lost. DPS personnel was released by the fire chief. No injuries were reported.
