    Location: Homer
    Type: Assault 3 Fear DV, Assault 4th Physical DV, Criminal Mischief 4&5 DV, Assault in Presence of a Child

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/1/25 at 1244 hours, Anchor Point AST responded to mile 7 of East End Road near Homer for a report of a disturbance involving a knife. Investigation revealed Nicole K. Gamboa (36), of Homer assaulted her partner with a knife, physically assaulted him, damaged $600.00 worth of tires with a knife, kicked the front door down, and their minor child was inside the dwelling. Gamboa was arrested for Assault in the 3rd degree – fear DV, Assault in the 4th degree – physical DV, Criminal Mischief in the 4th and 5th degree DV, and Committed DV assault in the presence of a child. Gamboa was transported to Homer Jail where she was remanded without bail.

    On 1/28/25 at 1329 hours, Troopers received a call from a Port Graham Council member reporting an assault which had occurred earlier in the morning. An investigation showed Cyrena Joseph, 27 of Port Graham, had been arguing with her husband while they were consuming alcohol. During the argument, Joseph retrieved a pistol and threatened to shoot her husband. Joseph discharged a round from the pistol inside the residence and the husband was then able to disarm her. The couple's three children were inside the residence at the time. Joseph was arrested and remanded into the Homer Jail on charges of MIW 2nd, MIW 4th, Assault 3rd, and three counts of Assault in the Presence of a Child. She was held pending arraignment.

    On 1/21/25 at 0054 hours, Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash near mile 6.5 East End Road. An investigation showed Sydney Whiting, 27 of Homer, had been driving when she lost control of her vehicle and went into the ditch and collided with an embankment. Whiting was injured in the crash and transported for treatment. Further investigation showed Whiting had been driving under the influence of alcohol, had a revoked driver's license, and did not have insurance covering the vehicle at the time of the crash. Whiting was given summons to appear and released.

    On 02/02/2025 at approximately 1139 hours, AST received a report for a welfare check at a residence off of Susitna River Road in Trapper Creek. Investigation revealed Crystal Calice age 43 of Trapper Creek, had assaulted a friend with a knife. Calice was also in possession of a controlled substance. Calice was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where she was remanded for the charges of Assault in the Third Degree and Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the fifth degree and held without bail.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 02/02/2025 at 0100, responded to a single-vehicle crash near Wasilla.  AST contacted and identified Alexander O’Docharty age 19 of Wasilla walking on the road in the area. Alexander was found to be driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol when it crashed. Alexander was arrested, transported, and remanded to MSPT.

    A routine traffic stop was conducted in the area of 17th a Cushman Road, on a vehicle driving without any headlights on. Investigation revealed that Trisha P. Ned-David was driving under the influence. Trisha Ned-David was transported and remanded to FCC for 1 count of DUI.

    On 2/1/25, at 1200 hours, a Tok residence was contacted by an AST Sgt. and VPSO for an injured pit bull.  Investigation determined the dog had been caught in a steel trap causing a possible fracture paw.  The injured dog was transported by the VPSO to North Pole to seek medical treatment.  AST would like to thank Raven Veterinary Services for their help in this matter.

    On 02/02/2025 at 1113 hours, Troopers took the call of an assault that occurred on 02/01/2025 at Fairbanks Correctional Facility. The victim, Gary Thurmond, was at FMH with injuries. A suspect has been identified, and this investigation is active and ongoing.

    On 2/2/2025 at approximately 0530, AST began receiving reports from the North Pole area of multiple mailboxes being damaged by means of some kind of explosive device.  Reports came in from Hurst Road, Hollowell Road, Nelson Road, and Dawson Road.  The incidents appear to have taken place between about 0300 and 0600.  

    Anyone who received damage to their mailbox is asked to reach out to AST and reference case AK2501053.
