Location: KetchikanType: MVC-D, No Motor Vehicle Liability InsuranceDispatch Text:
On 03/10/2023 at about 1708 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Pond reef Road and North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that David Mclavey, age 27 of Ketchikan was operating his white 1999 dodge pick-up truck northbound on the North Tongass Highway when he did not notice that a 2008 Chevrolet pick-up was stopped in the roadway and making a left hand turn when Mclavey struck the vehicle in front of him. No injuries were reported and both driver's reported wearing their seatbelt. Both vehicle's sustained minor damage. Further investigation revealed that Mclavey was operating a motor vehicle with no required motor vehicle liability insurance. Mclavey was issued a Summons for No Insurance and traffic citations for Expired Registration and Failure to Exercise Due Care to avoid a collision.

On 03/11/2023 at about 2200 hours, the Alaska State Troopers remanded Andrew Hanson, age 38 of Ketchikan who was incarcerated at Ketchikan Correctional Center after investigation revealed that Hanson had contacted the victim of an Domestic Violence Assault which he had been instructed not to contact. Further investigation revealed that Hanson also contacted the victim again after being instructed by the Ketchikan Courthouse to have no contact directly or indirectly with the victim during arraignment. Hanson was remanded on the new charges of Unlawful Contact in the 1st Degree and Unlawful Contact in the 2nd Degree with No Bail.

On March 10th, 2023, at 2112 hours, the Soldotna Alaska State Troopers stopped Amber Blalock, 36 years old, from Soldotna, for moving violations. During the stop, it was determined that Blalock was under the influence of alcohol, and she was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).
Blalock was taken into custody and provided a breath sample which resulted in a breath alcohol concentration of 0.230 g/210L.
Blalock was remanded to the Wildwood Correctional Complex. The Soldotna Alaska State Troopers would like to remind the public that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a serious offense and poses a significant danger to the community. We urge everyone to make responsible decisions when operating a motor vehicle and to never drive while under the influence.
Anyone witnessing a dangerous driver is encouraged to call 911.

On 03/11/2023 at about 0023 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a Domestic Disturbance at a residence at mile 8 of the North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that Andrew Hanson, age 38 of Ketchikan assaulted a family member at the residence. Further investigation revealed that Hanson also broke property inside the residence. Hanson was arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree DV and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree DV and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.

Location: WasillaType: Fail to Stop 1st; Felony DUI; Reckless DrivingDispatch Text:
On 03/10/23 at 2013 hours, AST attempted to stop a black 2015 GMC pick-up for reckless driving on the Parks Highway near Wasilla Lake. The driver of the GMC failed to stop and accelerated to approximately 90 mph attempting to elude AST. AST subsequently located the GMC abandoned off Stanley Road. Wasilla Police K9 Echo was utilized to track the suspect through the wooded area. Echo located the suspect approximately 1/2 mile away and he was taken into custody. The driver was identified as Tristan Scoggin, age 19 of Palmer. Scoggin was arrested for the original charges of Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer in the 1st Degree, Felony DUI, and Reckless Driving.

On 03/10/23 at 0538 hours, AST responded to a residence on N. Grey Wolf Drive in Wasilla for the report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed Tara Herring, age 35 of Wasilla, assaulted a household member and was violating conditions of release from a previous arrest. Herring was arrested for the original charges of Assault in the 4th Degree and Violating Conditions of Release.

On 03/11/2023 MATCOM received a REDDI report that a red f150 was driving erratically. The vehicle was pulled over, and Clifford Sampson 42 of Willow was arrested for DUI and Driving while license revoked.

On 03/11/2023, at approximately 0859 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a trespass at the Holiday Gas Station located at 7383 West Parks Highway in Meadow Lakes. The complainant stated Miah Jenkins was checking door handles of unattended vehicles at the gas station. Investigation revealed Miah had left the gas station prior to Trooper arrival. Troopers located Miah at the Speedway across the street. Miah was identified to have an active warrant for fail to appear on an original charge of criminal trespass 2. Miah was placed under arrest and transported to Matsu Pretrial without incident where she is being held on $100 cash appearance bail.

On 03/10/2023 Troopers of the Fairbanks Rural Unit responded to the community of Galena reference various complaints about John Vent, age 21 being disorderly. The investigation did not result in any new charges. Vent was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, bail $250. The warrant was served and Vent was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On March 8, 2023, Alaska State Troopers received reports that an altercation had occurred in Koyukuk sometime over the night of March 7 and morning of March 8. Investigation resulted in charges for Violation of Conditions of Release and Assault in the Fourth degree being forwarded to the District Attorney Office on 35-year-old Freda Stearman.
42-year-old Alfred Dayton left Koyukuk via snowmachine when he heard word that Troopers were coming to Koyukuk. Charges on Alfred with the request for an arrest warrant will be sent to the District Attorney Office for Assault in the Second Degree and Assault in the Third Degree. Any assistance from the public in locating Alfred would be appreciated.
UPDATE:
Alfred was arrested on March 19, 2023 and remanded on Assault in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and Violation Conditions of Release.

On 03/11/23 at approximately 0729 hours, Tok Alaska State Troopers took a report of a disturbance in Tanacross. It was reported that, Terry Hicks, of Tanacross had pulled the hair of one of his family members. Probable cause was established and Terry was arrested for assault in the 4th degree. Terry was also found to be in possession of alcohol. Tanacross is a dry village where the possession of alcohol is prohibited. Terry was later remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center for Assault in the 4th degree and prohibition of importation or purchase after election.

On 10 March 2023 at approximately 1005 Hours Alaska State Troopers received a report of a stolen car. The owner reported their red 2009 Scion XB Bearing AK plate JAS456 was stolen from their residence in the vicinity of Hurst Rd in North Pole. The owner stated the last time they saw the car was on 09 March 2023 at approximately 2015 hours.
