On March 8, 2025, Alaska Wildlife Troopers received a report around 3:20 p.m. that a juvenile male was caught in an avalanche while snowmachining near Johnson Pass. The juvenile male had been recovered from the avalanche but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. No one else from his group was injured, but they requested medical assistance and a helicopter transport. Around 4:30 p.m. the group notified dispatch they were able to transport the injured juvenile to the parking lot. They declined further assistance.

On 03/11/2025, at approximately 0015 hours, AST received a report that Derick Baisch, 41, of Wasilla, was currently at 631 S Triple B Street. A search of APSIN revealed that Baisch had been trespassed for life from this property. Baisch was contacted at the property without incident and issued a summons for Criminal Trespass in the 1st degree.

On 03/11/2025 at approximately 0007 hours, AST Dispatch received a report of a disturbance in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Dylan Nash, age 25, of Wasilla, damaged mutual property of a household member. Dylan was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for Criminal Mischief 4. He is being held with no bail.

On 03/11/2025 at approximately 0320 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop at W Nicole Ave and Church Rd. Investigation revealed the passenger, Charles Conrad, age 35 of Eagle River, had an active warrant for his arrest. Charles was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial, where he is being held on $250 bail.

On 03/11/2025 at approximately 0320 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop at W Nicole Ave and Church Rd. The investigation revealed the driver identified as Michael Denson, age 47, of Palmer, was driving on a revoked license. Michael was issued a criminal summons and released on his own recognizance.

On March 10, 2025, Alaska State Troopers responded around 9:15 p.m. to a report of a shooting in Willow. Willow resident John Sibole, 49, died at the scene. The investigation led to the arrest of Willow resident Jared Higgins, 31, on charges of second-degree murder and three counts of third-degree assault. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. The Alaska Bureau of Investigation has assumed case responsibility, and their investigation is active and ongoing. Sibole’s body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and his next of kin were notified.

On 03/10/2025 AST contacted Larry Miller who was in possession of tires that were stolen from a Nissan Altima. Larry was arrested for theft 2 and remanded at FCC.

On 03/10/2025 AST contacted Grace Weeks at the North Pole Transfer site. A check of APSIN revealed she had multiple warrants out for her arrest. She was arrested on the warrant and remanded at FCC.
