On 5/20/24 at 1848 hours, Troopers received a report of an ATV rollover near mile 127 of the Sterling Highway. An investigation showed Angella Spurgin, 52 of Ninilchik, had been driving the ATV while impaired. Spurgin was given a summons to appear in court and released to a sober adult.

On 5/21/24 at 1350 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence off Carmichael Court in Sterling where a male was contacted sitting in a vehicle in the driveway. Investigation revealed Christopher Jewell Humphreys, 46 of Wasilla, was in possession of a small amount of controlled substance. Humphreys was arrested and remanded at Wildwood pretrial on a charge of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 4th degree (due to a prior conviction w/in the last 10 years).

On 05/20/2024, at approximately 2209 hours, AST received a report that a man was stumbling into traffic in Kenai. AST located the man, Adrian Hand, age 35 of Soldotna. It was discovered that Hand had been drinking alcohol heavily and had driven his motorcycle until it became disabled. He was attempting to walk home when AST located him about a mile from where his motorcycle was left in the road. He was also found in possession of a handgun. He was arrested for driving under the influence and fourth degree misconduct involving weapons. His breath alcohol concentration was almost twice the .08 g/210L per se limit. He was remanded at Wildwood pretrial.

On May 21st, 2024, at approximately 1230 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted Keagan Carlton, age 30, of Willow, during a traffic stop on Hidden Hills in Willow. An investigation revealed Carlton was in violation of his conditions of release. Carlton was arrested for Violation of Conditions and remanded to Mat Su Pretrial, where he was held without bail.

On 5/20/2024 at approximately 0044 hours, MATCOM AST received a call of a disturbance near Willow, AK. AST responded, and the investigation revealed that Anjuschka Brown, 50, of Willow, AK, had assaulted a family member with a dangerous object. Anjuschka was arrested for Assault 3; she was transported and remanded at Matsu Pretrial, where she was held with no bail.

On 5/20/2024 at approximately 0130 hours, AST responded to a residence in Willow. While at the residence, AST contacted Michael Latham, 54, of Willow, AK. Investigation revealed Michael had a $250 outstanding warrant for his arrest for failing to appear for a court date.

On 5.21.24 at approximately 0700 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Palmer contacted Talalelei Luafulu, age 27, of Big Lake. An investigation revealed that Luafulu had an outstanding arrest warrant on the original charge of Assault 4 and Reckless Endangerment. Luafulu was arrested and remanded to MSPT without incident. Bail was set at $500.00

Location: WasillaType: Fatal Vehicle CollisionDispatch Text:
On May 20, 2024, at around 4:01 pm, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a rollover collision on the Parks Highway near Trunk Road. Troopers and EMS responded to the scene and located a Chevrolet pickup upside down in the median. The adult male driver was able to extricate himself from the vehicle; however, his passenger, 26-year-old Anchorage resident Tyler Anderson, was trapped and unable to extricate himself. After rescue teams were able to extricate Anderson, he was transported to a Mat-Su area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The criminal investigation into the collision continues; however, there have been no arrests or charges filed at this time. The northbound lanes of the Parks Highway were closed for approximately three hours as Troopers and Wasilla Police investigated the scene and cleared it of debris. Next of kin has been notified.

On May 20, 2024, at approximately 2330 hours Tok Alaska State Troopers, the Tok Volunteer Fire Department, and Tok Forestry responded to a report of a vehicle on fire on the Alaska Highway near the Tetlin Junction. The vehicle was unoccupied, and the fire was extinguished without additional property damage or injury. The vehicle driver and owner were contacted, and no crime was reported.

On May 21, 2024, at 4:19am, the Alaska State Troopers and EMS responded to a report of a sexual assault and an unconscious person at a residence in Wasilla. The Investigation, by both AST Patrol and South-Central Major Crimes, revealed Kevin Odomin, a 28-year-old male of Wasilla, physically and sexually assaulted a victim. The victim fought back, resulting in Odomin losing consciousness and the victim rendering life-saving measures. Odomin was arrested for Sexual Assault in the First Degree and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.
