    Location: Anchor Point
    Type: Fatal Vehicle Crash

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 27. 2025 at 7:46 am, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a vehicle upside down in the Anchor River near mile 161 of the Sterling Highway. Troopers immediately responded to the scene and located the driver deceased inside the vehicle. A preliminary investigation determined that the vehicle was traveling northbound on the highway when it went off the road, striking a guardrail and eventually rolling into the river around 1:15 am. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification. The identity of the driver will be released once they are positively identified and next of kin have been notified. The Sterling Highway was intermittently closed for approximately 2 hours as Troopers and recovery crews investigated the collision and recovered the vehicle.

    On 5/26/2025, at approximately 1633 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a male passed out in the driver’s seat at Dennis Drive and Beaver Lodge Road in Big Lake. AST responded to the scene. AST contacted Brandon Stevens, age 42 of Big Lake. Investigation revealed that Brandon was impaired by a controlled substance. Brandon was arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial and remanded for the crime of DUI and held on OR.

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 26, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received a report around 9 p.m. that two men were missing after the boat they were on sank off the coast of Mekoryuk. Three men were aboard the 10-foot Ocean Pro when it sank in rough water conditions. One man swam to shore and was located. Samuel Shavings, 72, and Albert Williams, 65, remain missing. Two local boats searched for the men overnight with assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard. On May 27, the Rescue Coordination Center planned to launch a C-130 aircraft and the U.S. Coast Guard routed a vessel to the area.

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 24, 2025, at 9:37am, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a deceased person at a pullout just north of Chicken on the Taylor Highway. The individual was reported to be bear hunting in the area. AST and AWT responded and found David Creamer, age 68 of Tok, deceased from what appeared to be an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. There was no apparent sign of foul play observed on his person or on scene. His body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy. Next of kin has been notified.

    On May 24 2025 at approximately 1154 hours, the Alaska State troopers received a report of a disturbance at a residence near Badger Road.  Investigation showed that Tyler Wallace, 25 of Fairbanks assaulted a family member by causing pain and injury.  Charges have been forwarded to the Fairbanks District Attorney's Office.

    On May 23, 2025 AST responded to the Fox General Store for a domestic violence investigation.  The victim had called from inside the store advising her boyfriend Brandon Welton was parked outside, armed with a pistol, and was threatening to take her out of town and kill her.  AST arrived on scene and located Brandon Welton sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot.  An investigation led to the arrest of Brandon Welton (age 42 of North Pole) on charges of DV terroristic threatening II, Violating conditions of release on a DV crime, and driving with a revoked license.   Welton was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on his charges.

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 20, 2025 at about 7:11 PM, Alaska State Troopers and Tok Area EMS responded to a report of CPR in progress near Tok. Subsequent investigation confirmed that James Harbison, age 79 of Tok, was deceased around 8 PM. His death was determined to be due to natural causes. Next of kin was present on scene. The State Medical Examiner's Office was consulted and they released James' remains to family.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 24, 2025, at 12:05 pm, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers were notified that an adult male had become trapped under a boulder while crossing 4th of July Creek near Seward. Firefighters from Bear Creek and Seward Volunteer Fire Departments responded and rescued the adult man, who was then transported to a Seward area hospital by an Alaska Air National Guard rescue team for treatment of his injuries.

    On 5/24/2025 at approximately 1423 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Jared Meader age 41 from Kasilof for a traffic violation. Investigation revealed Jared Meader was revoked for DUI. Jared Meader was issued a misdemeanor citation to appear in court. The vehicle was release to a license driver.
