    Paul Raymond Warner, age 61, from Soldotna was charged with 4 counts of assault in the 3rd and 1 count of MIW in the 4th when during an argument and intoxicated he pointed his firearm at 4 people.

    On May 26, 2024, at 2:52 pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a report that a juvenile was missing in the Sterling area. Multiple Troopers, US Fish and Wildlife Officers, volunteer firefighters, volunteers, and other first responders responded to the area and began searching for the child. The child was located approximately 1 mile from their home in a field in good health by EMS crews assisting with the search after being missing for around 2 hours. She was returned home.

    On 05/28/2024 at approximately 1418 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Palmer Wasilla Highway and Equestrian Street for a vehicle excessively smoking as it was traveling on PWH.  The driver and sole occupant identified himself as Justin Dillon age 35 of Wasilla.  Dillon advised he had a $100 warrant for failure to appear on the OC or DWLR.  Dillon's warrant was confirmed and was arrested without incident and remanded to Matsu Pretrial.

    On 5/28/2024, at approximaltey 1330 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted April Murray, age 40 of Wasilla at a residence on Starlight Lane in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that April had an outstanding arrest warrant for the original crime of DWLR. April was arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial where she was remanded and held on a $50 bail.

    On 5/26/24 at approximately 1727 hours MATCOM began recieving multiple calls regarding a REDDI vehicle, a Yellow Cab van, that was northbound on the Glenn Hwy from the Glenn and Old Glenn interchange. Ultimately, the vehicle was located by Palmer AST on Outer Springer Lp near the Palmer Golf Course. Investigation revealed the driver, Sonya Glancy, age 55 of Anchorage, was operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol. Glancy was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where she was remanded on 1 count of DUI. Glancy was later released on her own recognizance.

    On 5/28/2024 at approximately 0552 hours, AST attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle for an equipment violation.  The motorcycle failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued.  Ultimately, the vehicle left the roadway in an attempt to evade AST, where it sustained a mechanical issue and was not operational anymore.  AST arrested the driver, who was identified as Cord Hanaway 42 YOA, of Wasilla.  Cord was arrested and remanded to MSPT, where he was held without bail.  Cord was charged with Failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer, Misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 5th degree & Driving while license revoked.

On May 27, 2024, at approximately 2:07 pm, Hooper Bay search and rescue volunteers located Tyler deceased near the airport. Foul play is not suspected at this time. Next of kin has been notified, and Tyler’s body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

    On May 27, 2024, at 10:19 am, the Alaska State Troopers received a report that a boat had overturned with two people on board near Kalskag. Two people were onboard the vessel when it overturned. One of the occupants, an adult female, was located near the boat by Kalskag SAR Team members and helped to shore. The second person on board, 57-year-old Kalskag resident Michael Evan, was not immediately located. Troopers launched a helicopter from Bethel to conduct aerial searching while local SAR teams searched on the water and shore. At approximately 2:15 pm, Evan was located deceased by SAR team members. His next of kin have been notified, and his body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

    Update: June 28, 2024. On June 22, 2024, Alaska Wildlife Troopers utilizing state aircraft recovered a body near Point Protection on the Nushagak Peninsula that had been reported by a commercial fisherman. Due to the condition of the remains, the body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification. On June 28, 2024, the remains were positively identified as 36-year-old Carl Nunn of Dillingham. Next of kin has been notified.

    Update: On May 25, 2024, at 4:00am, Alaska State Troopers recovered the body of Rachelle Johnson along the tideline near Clark’s Point. The body was located while AST was conducting aerial searches of the area.  The body is being sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. Next of kin has been notified. Carl Nunn has not been located.

    On May 15th, 2024, at 6:55pm, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a skiff upside down on the shore of Ekuk beach. Investigation revealed Rachelle Johnson had borrowed the skiff on Monday and left Dillingham with Carl Nunn. Johnson had not given a planned return date and has not been reachable by phone. AST conducted an aerial search over Nushagak Point, Clark’s Point, and Ekuk and no leads were observed. AST reached out to local community members in Ekuk as well as the surrounding villages requesting assistance to determine if Rachelle and Carl were safe. At this time no one has reported seeing either party. A Missing Person’s bulletin has been issued for Rachelle Johnson and Carl Nunn.

Investigation found Angela Toussaint, age 42 of Fairbanks, had committed the crimes of Assault 3, Assault 4, Burglary 2, and Criminal Mischief 5. She was arrested and remanded to FCC.

    On 5/27/24 at 1024 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a hit and run at approximately 40-mile Chena Hot Springs Road.  The driver of the vehicle did not require medical attention although the vehicle sustained significant damage after it was run of the roadway by the suspect vehicle.  The suspect vehicle was described as an older model red pick-up truck with a male driver.  Anyone with information about this crime can call the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks at (907) 451-5100.     On 05/27/2024 at approximately 1007 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Silverado for a moving violation. The driver was identified as Devin Hyde, age 40 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Hyde had a suspended driver’s license with multiple previous convictions within the previous 10 years. Hyde was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in court for Driving While License Suspended.

Investigation revealed the driver, 42 year old Kenai resident Crystal Poole, had a warrant for her arrest. Further investigation determined the passenger, identified as 53 year old Soldotna resident John Peterson, also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Both were arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.

AK Div of Fire and Life Safety

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 26, 2024, at around 1:00 am, the Kodiak Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on Benny Benson Drive in Kodiak. While suppressing the fire, firefighters located a single adult female in the structure. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was declared deceased. A Deputy Fire Marshal from the State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. A preliminary investigation revealed the fire originated in the resident’s bedroom, and the cause was electrical in nature.  The deceased female has been identified as 70-year-old Kodiak resident Olga Malutin. Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
