    Type: Driving in Violation of Instructional Permit & No Insurance

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/13/2022 at 2045 hours the Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation near Mile 155 Sterling Highway.  Investigation determined the driver, Shawn Wood, age 18 from Wasilla was driving in violation of his instructional permit and did not have insurance.  Wood was issued misdemeanor summons in the Homer court for Driving in Violation of the Instructional Permit and No Insurance.

    ON 05/13/2022 at 1939 hours the Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point conducted a traffic stop on the Old Sterling Highway in Anchor Point.  Investigation determined the driver, James Nye, age 41 from Homer did not have insurance for the vehicle he was driving.  Nye was issued a misdemeanor summons in the Homer Court for No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance.

    Location: Seward
    Type: Warrant Arrest, Harassment I, VCOR

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/13/2022 at approximately 1405 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted Jessica Collins, age 31 of Seward, in the parking lot of a gas station in Seward. Investigation revealed Collins to have an outstanding $500 arrest warrant for failure to appear on the original charges of DWLS, No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance, and VCOR. As AST was arresting Collins, Collins spit at the arresting Trooper. Collins was arrested and transported to Seward Community Jail where she was remanded for the arrest warrant, Harassment in the first degree, and Violating Conditions of Release with the bail set at the original $500 from the arrest warrant.

    Type: Warrant Arrest, Assault 4th, & Resisting Arrest

    On 05/12/2022 at approximately 1802 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance in Ninilchik.  Investigation determined Sarah Pedrick, age 29 from Ninilchik assaulted a family member and had multiple outstanding arrest warrants.  During the arrest Pedrick resisted and a K9 was deployed, successfully apprehending Sarah.  She was remanded to Homer Jail for her warrants and new charges of Assault 4th (DV) and Resisting Arrest and was held without bail pending arraignment.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/04/2022 at approximately 1815 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a search warrant on a residence in Copper Center. Lia Miller, age 23 of Copper Center, was found to be in possession of approximately 2.3 grams of a substance suspected to be heroin in 12 individual dime sized baggies, a scale, a syringe with a substance suspected to be heroin, and 30 clean dime sized baggies. Miller was arrested and charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree. Miller was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where she is held with a $35,000 bail.

    Type: Misconduct Involving Weapons

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 12, 2022 at approximately 2006 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report that Lorraine Fairchild was shooting unsafely in the backyard of her Wasilla residence. AST responded to the residence and found that Fairchild was shooting a .308 rifle in the direction of residences and Wasilla Fishhook Road (approximately 200 feet away) without a backstop. A heavy odor of an alcoholic beverage could be smelled on her person and it was later determined that her Breath Alcohol Content was .211.  Fairchild's three young children were also on scene.  Fairchild was arrested and remanded to Mat Su Pre Trial on one count of Second Degree Misconduct Involving Weapons, two counts of Fourth Degree Misconduct Involving Weapons and three counts of Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

    On 05/12/2022 at approximately 2227 hours, Troopers conducted a traffic stop near Davison St. and Stier St. The driver was found to be driving with a revoked license. Alexander Mullins, 53, of North Pole was placed under arrest for Driving While License Revoked and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

    On May 13th, 2022 at approximately 1440 hours, Fairbanks AST received a repot stating Curtis Sunnyboy was violating his conditions of release. Investigation revealed this to be true. Curtis was arrested and remanded to FCC for VCOR x2.

    On May 13, 2022 Nenana based AST and VPSOs responded along with Anderson and Nenana Fire Departments for the report of a vehicle on fire along the Parks Hwy. Traffic was blocked due to the incident for a short time. There was no suspected criminal activity associated with this incident.

    Type: Residential Structure Fire - Fatal

    UPDATE: The State Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the victim in this fire as Darrel Williams Sr. age 67 of Nome.

    On February 1, 2022, at 8:59 pm, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a residential structure fire on Dexter Bypass Road in Nome. Troopers and firefighters from the Nome Fire Department responded to the fire. The trailer residence was considered a total loss after the fire was extinguished by firefighters. On the morning of February 2, firefighters located human remains inside of the structure believed to belong to an adult. An Alaska Department of Public Safety Deputy Fire Marshal is responding to Nome to determine the origin and cause of the fire. The human remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification.
