On 7/4/24 at 1127 hours, Troopers stopped a vehicle on the Sterling Highway at Tim Avenue for equipment violations. The driver was identified as Dustin Mock, 33 of Wasilla. A records check showed Mock was driving with a revoked license. Mock was given a summons to appear and released.

On July 3, 2024 at around 6:00 pm, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of an ATV collision in Kodiak. Troopers responded and located 65-year-old Kodiak resident Lon White deceased after the ATV he was operating rolled and landed on top of him. There were no signs of impairment and White was wearing a helmet. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. Next of kin have been notified.

On July 4, 2024, at 12:30 am, the Alaska State Troopers were notified that an 13-year-old child* was missing from Pasagshak on Kodiak. The child was reportedly riding an ATV by himself and had not returned from the ride. As Troopers were responding, family and friends began a hasty search of the area and located the child pinned underneath of the ATV and partially submerged in Lake Rose near an ATV trail. The child was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin have been notified. The child was wearing a helmet.

On July 4, 2024, at 2:11 am, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of an overturned side-by-side on Surfer’s Beach south of the Pasagshak on Kodiak. Troopers responded and located an injured adult male around 500 yards from the roadway. The US Coast Guard was requested to assist with a medevac. The adult male was medevaced to a Kodiak area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported to the Troopers.

On July 4th, 2024, at approximately 0310 hours, AST reposted to a reported DV Assault. After investigation Ryan Aikens was placed under arrest for assault in the fourth degree and interfering with a report of a DV crime. He was remanded to FCC.

On 07/04/2024 at approximately 1630 hours AST conducted a routine traffic stop on a silver sedan for passing multiple vehicles in a no passing zone. The driver, Joseph Barney, age 47 of Fairbanks, was driving while his driver’s license was revoked. Additional information showed Joseph had 3 previous convictions of DWLR in the last 10 years. Joseph was given multiple citations and summoned for Driving While License Revoked.
