    On 07/06/2024 at approximately 1857 hours, MATCOM received a report of a disturbance near Tex Al Drive and Steen Road in Wasilla. AST contacted Michael David Howes, age 33 of Wasilla, near Tex Al Drive and Wasilla-Fishhook Road. Investigation revealed Howes caused reckless physical injury to a family member. Howes was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where he was remanded on a charge of Assault in the 4th degree per Domestic Violence and held on no bail.

    Dispatch Text:

    On July 6, 2024, at 1:12 pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of two deceased adult females at a residence in the Williwaw Subdivision in Wasilla. Troopers, Wasilla PD, and Central Mat-Su EMS and Fire responded to the residence, and lifesaving efforts were attempted on both females; however, they were declared deceased at the scene. A preliminary investigation revealed that 21-year-old Wasilla resident Rosa Schlosser and 19-year-old Wasilla resident Desiree Michaud were inside the residence while a generator was running in the crawlspace, likely dying from carbon monoxide poisoning. No foul play is suspected; however, the investigation is ongoing. Both bodies were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. Next of kin have been notified.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7-5-24 at approximately 2151 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance on Ballaine Road in Fairbanks.  The investigation found that Daniel Mark, age 32, of Fairbanks, placed a family member in fear of imminent serious physical injury by means of a dangerous instrument.  Mark was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on the charge of Assault III.

    On 07/06/2024 at approximately 0139 hours, a Trooper conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation. Further investigation revealed the plates on the vehicle did not belong to the car. The driver, Jason Price, was criminally cited for improper use of evidence of registration.

    On 07/05/2024 at approximately 1231 hours, DPS Patrol Vessel Stimson received a MAYDAY call from a commercial salmon fisherman in Kvichak Bay stating he lost a crewman over the side of his vessel. AWT responded to the area with two patrol skiffs and arrived just as the reporting vessel had located and retrieved their unconscious crewmember out of the water. AWT performed lifesaving measures for approximately one hour prior to pronouncing the crewman deceased. Investigation revealed crewman Corwin Wheeler, age 21 of Wisconsin, had become entangled in fishing gear and was pulled overboard and underwater. Next of kin has been notified.

    On 07/03/2024 at 2218 AWT contacted Xiaofeng Ji (41) of Anchorage at Kasilof South Beach. Ji was was packing after a day of dipnetting in the Kasilof River personal use dipnet fishery. Investigation revealed that Ji did not possess an upper Cook Inlet personal Use permit and was instead using a Copper River subsitance permit. Ji was cited for using a personal use fishery without a personal use permit and showed how to obtain an Upper Cook Inlet personal use permit.

Raelynn Moehring, age 26, from Wasilla, was contacted on the beach. Investigation revealed that Raelynn Moehring failed to log her eight P/U fish on her Upper Cook Inlet Permit. Raelynn Moehring was issued a bailable citation for failing to log her salmon.

Joseph Davila, age 50, from Anchorage, was contacted near the beach. Investigation revealed that Joseph Davila caught P/U fish and did not have a 2024 Upper Cook Inlet Dipnet Permit. Joseph Davila was issued a bailable citation for not having a 2024 Upper Cook Inlet Dipnet Permit.
