On 08/10/2023 at approximately 2049 hours, AST received a "Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately" (REDDI) on a black Toyota Pickup driving dangerously in the construction zone near the Seward Highway and Scott Way. AST conducted a traffic stop and the driver was identified as David Nelson, age 65, of Seward. Investigation revealed Nelson to be driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked license (DWLR), no liability insurance and failed to transfer vehicle title. He was placed under arrest and transported to Seward jail were he provided a sample of his breath on the Datamaster. Once sober, Nelson was released with a date to appear in court.

Location: SewardType: Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances (MICS)Dispatch Text:
On 08/05/2023, Seward Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to use its turn signal on Salmon Creek Road. Troopers immediately recognized signs and behavior consistent with drug smuggling. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Darwin Harris (43, Kasilof), Wyatt Williams (42, Seward), and Sydney Mack (26, Seward). Wyatt was placed under arrest for violating his conditions of release (VCOR) for an unrelated matter. The vehicle was seized pending the application of a search warrant. Darwin and Sydney were released on scene.
On 08/06/2023, the Anchor Point K-9 team conducted a K-9 drug detection sniff with K-9 Lavi around the vehicle. K-9 Lavi indicated on the vehicle for the presence of the odor of controlled substances.
On 08/07/2023, a search warrant was granted for the vehicle. Troopers located approximately 122.60 grams of methamphetamine (street value $24,520), 121 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl (street value $2,420), and 40.87 grams of suspected testosterone. Wyatt was still in custody and remanded on the following charges. 1 count of MICS in the 2nd degree, 1 count of MICS in the 3rd degree, 1 count of MICS in the 4th degree, and 1 count of VCOR. Sydney was placed under arrest for MICS in the 2nd degree, MICS in the 3rd degree, and MICS in the 4th degree. Efforts at locating Darwin were unsuccessful. An arrest warrant for 1 count of MICS in the 2nd degree, 1 count of MICS in the 3rd degree, and 1 count of MICS in the 4th degree has been issued.

On 8/10/2023, at approximately 2111 hours, AST received a 911 report of a disturbance on W. Winter Way in Wasilla. AST responded to the scene. AST contacted Adam Weaver, age 20 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Adam assaulted another family member. Adam was arrested for the crime of Assault IV/DV. Adam was transported to Matsu Pretrial where he was remanded and held without bail.

On 8/11/23 at approximately 0130 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an ATV collision with a telephone pole near the intersection of Big Lake Road and Lions Court. Although not involved with the collision, troopers at the scene contacted 36-year-old Lloyd Christoffersen, who investigation revealed was operating his ATV while under the influence of alcohol. Troopers arrested Lloyd and transported him to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where he was held on $500 bail.

On 10 August 2023 at approximately 1528 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a disturbance in Talkeetna. Upon arrival on scene, Troopers contacted a possible witness asleep in the backseat of his truck. Investigation revealed that the occupant, Keith Creager of Talkeetna, had a warrant for failure to appear. Keith was arrested without incident and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial and held on a $250 bail.

Location: WasillaType: Disorderly ConductDispatch Text:
On 08/11/2023 at approximately 0240 hours, Matcom Dispatch was contacted regarding loud music in the area of Potter and Leora Drive in Wasilla. Matcom Dispatch was contacted twice regarding the same property. Troopers responded, located the property, and contacted the property owner, Isaac Dinardo age 23, of Wasilla on property with the loud music. Isaac informed Troopers he would not turn down the music and told them to come back. The disorderly conduct statue was read to Isaac and he continued to not comply. Troopers gave the warning then left, but responded back approximately 30 minutes later. The music was heard by Troopers from about 300 feet of the residence. Isaac was then arrested for disorderly conduct. He was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial and held on $50 bail set by an on-call Anchorage Magistrate.

Investigation revealed, Charles Steward age 67 of Big Lakes, had been observed by the building owner inside of the building and with the owners property inside of Steward's car. Steward was located, arrested and remanded at Matsu Pretrial for Burglary 2nd degree, Criminal Trespassing 1st degree, Theft 4th degree and for Violating Conditions of Release.

UPDATE 8/10/2023 - Haydan was located safe and removed from missing persons status.
On 8/4/2023, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report that Haydan Johnson had ran from his foster home approximately a week earlier.
Haydan is 14yo, 145lb, 5’8”, athletic build, brown eyes, black hair, native, male, no facial hair, no tattoos or distinct markings. He was last seen the morning of August 4, 2023 at Creamers field during his visitation with his mom. He was wearing a blue baggy T-shift, sweat pants, and bright blue Nike shoes.

On 08/11/2023 at approximately 1815 hrs, Delta Junction Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black 2021 GMC Yukon, bearing AK license plate JTL766 at MP 253 Richardson Highway near Delta Junction for following too close and failure to maintain lane of travel.
Investigation revealed that Libin Xia age 51 of the Peoples Republic of China failed to stop at the direction of a peace officer and was subsequently arrested.

On 8/15/23, Odam pled no contest to a retaining king and coho salmon during a closed period, as well as taking undersize king salmon in a previous case. He was fined a total of $3500 with $2250 suspended, ordered to pay $350 in restitution, and placed on probation for one year.
On 8/11/23, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post investigated a report of coho salmon being delivered from a troll vessel which had retained the fish during a closed period. Investigation revealed, Jeffrey Odam, age 54, of OR, had retained 5 coho salmon and 1 king salmon while participating in the commercial chum salmon fishery. Retention of king and coho salmon was closed by emergency order when the fish were retained and possessed. The fish were seized and Odam was issued a summons to appear in the district court at Sitka for arraignment.
