    On 7/31/21 at 1756 hours, Fairbanks AST Dispatch received a report from Juneau Police Department that a 73 year-old Juneau women had not returned from a walk on Basin Road. At 2012 hours a Good Samaritan established verbal contact with the women. With the combined efforts of Alaska Seadogs, Juneau Mountain Rescue, and volunteer searchers, she was found on a hillside in thick brush next to Basin Road and was escorted out of the woods and was provided transportation to her residence. No injuries were reported and medical care was declined. Juneau Police Department was advised that she had been found. All volunteer searchers were accounted for and everyone returned from the field without further incident.

    On August 1, 2021 at approximately 1744 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were notified that two adult men were lost in the area of Treadwell Ditch Trail. The two men reported that they had adequate shelter, food, and water with no reported injuries, but were unable to find their way out. In consultation with Juneau Mountain Rescue, a rescue effort was planned for the morning of August 2 at first light. On August 2 at approximately 0745 hours volunteers from Juneau Mountain Rescue used a TEMSCO helicopter to search the last reported area for the two men. At approximately 0930 hours the two men were located and loaded onto the helicopter and transported back to Juneau. Neither of the two men reported injuries.

    Type: Driving with a Suspended License

    On 8/2/21 at 1415 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to Funny River Rd. for a report of a suspicious van potentially "casing" job sites. The van was located near mile 11 Funny River Road in Soldotna where contact was made with the driver, identified as Kenneth Carl Ibsen, 57 of Soldotna. Investigation revealed Ibsen had a suspended license with previous convictions. Ibsen was issued a misdemeanor court citation for Driving With a Suspended License and released.

    Type: DUI

    Dispatch Text:

      On 8-2-2021 at 0222 Hours, the Soldotna AST K-9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a black 2008 Jeep for traveling above the posted speed limit. The driver was identified by his Alaska operator’s license as Zachary Thomas Holman (29) YOA of Kasilof. Investigation revealed Holman was driving under the influence. Holman was arrested for DUI and transported to AST for Datamaster processing. Holman was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial on charges of DUI. Homan was released on his own recognizance once he was sober.

    Type: Theft 3 & Criminal Trespass 1

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/02/2021 at approximately 1851 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a theft in progress at a residence on W Hollywood Rd, in Wasilla. The homeowner found a male, later identified as Anthony Engebretsen-Roger, in their vehicle parked 50 feet from the road. They confronted Anthony and found he took $450 in property. Investigation revealed Anthony committed the crimes of Theft 3 and Criminal Trespass 1. He was arrested, issued a summons to appear in court, and released on his own recognizance.

    On 08/01/2021 at approximately 0730 Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on N Church Rd in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that a family member was assaulted another person in the residence. Charges of Assault 4 DV are being forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

    On August 2, 2021, at approximately 0812 AST received a report of a stolen vehicle on Williwaw Way.  The vehicle was last seen On August 1st at 10pm.  This morning at 8am the owner noticed the vehicle was missing.  The vehicle is a White 2002 GMC Yukon XL 2500 bearing AK plate EEL716.  The vehicle displays business decals on the sides and back of the vehicle.  If you see this vehicle please contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-745-2131 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 907-745-3333.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/01/21 at approximately 1721 hours, AST received a report of a disturbance on W Cambridge Dr, Wasilla. The complainant stated that Cameron Brumaghim, age 30 of Wasilla, had been yelling at the neighborhood kids while walking down the road. Cameron then entered the complainant’s yard and placed her in fear by yelling while approaching her and grabbing her face. Cameron then left the area. AST arrived a short time later and found Cameron on W Sunset Ave. Upon contacting Cameron, he began resisting and fighting with AST. While fighting with AST, Cameron bit a trooper multiple times and broke a smartwatch belonging to the trooper. Eventually, Cameron was placed in handcuffs and arrested. After being cleared at Matsu Regional, Cameron was remanded on two counts of Assault IV, Criminal Mischief V, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Trespass II. While at Matsu Pretrial, Cameron spit on a trooper, exposing that trooper to Cameron’s saliva and blood. An additional charge of Harassment I was added, and Cameron is held without bail until arraignment.

    On 08/02/2021 at approximately 1300hours Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a theft of 7 catalytic converters from box trucks belonging to Mat-Su Borough School District on E Bogard Rd. Investigation revealed suspects cut a hole through the eastern fence to gain access to the property. Damages to the fence are approximately $2500, and each catalytic converter is valued at $2200. Investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

    On 08/02/2021 at approximately 1506 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a single motorcycle accident near mile 38 of Willow Fishhook Rd. in Willow. Investigation revealed that the motorcyclist sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Mat-Su Regional for further evaluation.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 8/2/21 at approximately 1459 hours Tok AST responded to a report of a fight in progress at the Snowshoe Motel in Tok. Investigation revealed Darin Mark, age 50, of Tetlin, was intoxicated and after being kicked out of 3 Bears grocery store began yelling and swearing at people in front of the Snowshoe. The proprietor of Snowshoe then came out and asked Mark to leave. Mark then became agitated at him and assaulted him. Further investigation revealed Mark was on conditions of release which state he is to obey all laws. Mark was arrested and transported to FCC where he was remanded on charges of Assault 4th Degree and VCOR. He was later released on his own recognizance.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Dispatch Text:

    On July 29, 2021, at approximately 2300 hours, Alaska Wildlife Trooper Laura Reid was patrolling the North Beach during Kenai River Dipnet Fishery. Trooper Reid was making contact with dipnetters warning them of the imminent closure for the evening when she noticed a twelve-year-old child being swept down the Kenai River towards the open ocean. Trooper Reid ran into the frigid Kenai River to save the child who was barely above the water. Once Trooper Reid made it to the child, she began to float down the river as well. A good samaritan, Antoine Aridou, took notice and used his dipnet to assist Trooper Reid and the child to safety. The child was evaluated by medics and then reunited with his parents. The Alaska Wildlife Troopers would like to thank Mr. Aridou for his swift action and assistance.

    On 8-1-2021 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Travis Kemp-Davis (20), of Ketchikan, for sport fishing in the waters of Ketchikan Creek without a valid 2021 sport fishing license.  This violation carries at set bail/fine of $220 and does not require a court appearance in the First Judicial District Court in Ketchikan.
