On 10/10/2026 at approximately 0051 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation near the intersection of the Sterling Highway and Forest Lane. The driver, who was identified as 27-year-old Terence Slats, displayed signs of impairment by alcohol. Slats ultimately failed SFSTs and was placed under arrest for DUI. Slats later provided a breath sample for Data Master with a BrAc of .118. Slats was remanded without incident to Wildwood pretrial on one charge of DUI.

On 09/05/2026 at approximately 1011 hours, AST received a call from the Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad. KVRS stated a 26 YO hiker was past the summit of Deer Mountain and unable to walk due to an injury. KVRS responded via helicopter, and the patient was transported to Peace Health Hospital without incident.

On 09/04/2026, at 1855 hours, Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a report from a juvenile that her grandma, Sheryl M. Howe, 52, of Anchor Point left her at home, and that she saw drugs and a gun on her Sheryl's bed. AST responded to the residence and served a search warrant. A crystalline substance, other paraphernalia, and a loaded revolver were located and seized. Sheryl was arrested and transported to Homer Jail, where she was remanded on one count Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree, one count of Misconduct involving a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, and one count of Violating Conditions of Release.

On 09-04-26 AST received a report of a theft from a resident in Wasilla. AST located the stolen property on 09-05-26 at a separate location in Wasilla, James Cohen (Age 24 Male) was arrested and charged with Theft in the Second Degree and Criminal Trespass in the First Degree. He was remanded at MSPT without bail.

On September 4th, 2026, AST conducted a traffic stop in the Wasilla area and contacted Iosif Usoltseff, age 41, of Wasilla. Iosif was found through investigation to be operating his vehicle while under the influence. Iosif was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for Felony DUI and Felony Refusal to submit to chemical testing.

On 09/05/2026 at approximately 0710 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in Wasilla reference a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Troopers located an individual with visible injury. Investigation revealed Victoria Phillips, age 33 of Wasilla, caused injury to a household member. Victoria was arrested for Assault 4 and remanded at MSPT with no bail.

At approximately 0440 hours on 05 September 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to 2121 Lakeview Terrace 2 for a disturbance in progress.
Investigation revealed that Terell Merritt was the primary aggressor in a domestic assault.
Merritt was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On 09/05/26, the Alaska State Troopers arrested Luis Zaragoza for Driving Under the Influence after observing erratic driving and signs of impairment. Zaragoza performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later provided a breath sample of 0.163. He was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

On September 5, 2026, at approximately 0307 hours, Alaska State Troopers observed a Jeep SUV leaving the Oasis Bar parking lot without signaling and driving without headlights. The driver, Jacob Cowell, showed signs of impairment, performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and later provided a Datamaster breath sample of 0.119. He was arrested for DUI without incident and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On September 3, 2026, at approximately 1446 hours, AWT observed a white truck in the ditch at the intersection of Swanson River Road and Jacobson Avenue. The driver, identified as 50-year-old Jason Daniels, exhibited signs of alcohol impairment. Daniels failed SFSTs and was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence. A pistol was found in the back of the vehicle as well. Daniels later provided a breath sample for the DataMaster, which indicated a Blood Alcohol Concentration of 0.311. He was taken into custody without incident and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial on charges of DUI and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the fourth-degree.
