On 9/26/2024 at approximately 1810 hours AST was dispatched to the intersection of N Parks Hwy and Big Lake Rd for a motor vehicle collision. Investigation revealed Richard Lavanway was driving under the influence and was arrested for such. His BrAC was measured at 0.305. He was remanded to the Mat-Su pretrial facility for the charge of DUI.

On 9/25/2024 at approximately 1745 hours AST was dispatched to Palmer for a report of a motor vehicle collision. Investigation revealed Rebecca Cameron was driving. Further investigation revealed Rebecca to be under the influence of alcohol while driving. She was arrested for Felony DUI and remanded to Matsu Pre-trial facility after being medically cleared.

On September 25, 2024, at 6:54 am, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a single ATV accident in the village of Kivalina. It was reported that a male, later identified as Larry Swan, age 22, had been found unresponsive in the ditch after rolling his ATV. Larry was not conscious or breathing at the time he was found and was transported to the local clinic by first responders where he was declared deceased. Alcohol does not appear to have been involved. Larry was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The body is being sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. Next of kin was on scene.
