On 09/29/2024 at 2338 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. Investigation revealed, Donald Anderson 42 YOA of Arizona was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance. Subsequently, Donald was also in possession of three different controlled substances. Donald was arrested on charges of DUI and Misconduct involving controlled substance x 3. Donald was remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial where he was released on his own recognizance.

On 9/30/2024 at approximately 0039 hours Alaska State Troopers received a report of a single vehicle accident at the Trunk Road and Fireweed roundabout. Investigation revealed Brittany Alger, 35 of Palmer, was driving impaired. Brittany was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial facility on charges of Driving Under the Influence. Bail was set at release on own recognizance.

Investigation revealed Micah Porter, age 20 of Palmer, committed the crime of Harassment I. Porter was issued a misdemeanor citation and released on his own recognizance.

On 09/28/2024 Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the vicinity of the AST Fairbanks Trooper Post. The driver of the vehicle, Travous Earl Williams, was ultimately arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center for multiple offenses. Travous is charged with one count of AS28.35.030(a)((2) Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage, a class A Misdemeanor; and two counts of AS11.51.100(b), Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the Second Degree, a class A Misdemeanor crime.

On 9/29/24 at approximately 1411 hours, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash at the intersection of the Steese Highway and Farmers Loop Road. AST was able to determine the at fault driver, neither driver sustained injuries and both vehicles were moved successfully out of the roadway.

On September 30, 2024, at 6:25 am, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a commercial vehicle crash on the Richardson Highway. The investigation revealed that the commercial semi-truck was traveling south on the Richardson Highway near mile 332 when a 4-door sedan, operated by Temitayo Iyanu Kalejaiye, age 42, of Salcha, pulled out in front of the commercial vehicle after failing to yield for a stop sign. Kalejaiye was declared deceased on scene by medics. The SME has been contacted and the body is being sent for autopsy. Next of kin has been notified. Investigation is ongoing.

On 09/30/2024 at approximately 1246 hours, Nenana Troopers observed a observed a gray Honda vehicle traveling Southbound swerve from the Northbound lane into the Southbound lane and narrowly avoided rear-ending another vehicle. The gray Honda swerved within the lane with little control. Troopers initiated a traffic stop near mile 292 Parks Hwy. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle stopped near mile 251 Parks. Investigation showed The driver Kathryn Brockman, age 18 of Anchorage, was traveling from Fairbanks to Anchorage. After seeing Troopers Kathryn accelerated at a high rate of speed estimated up to 115 MPH. Her three passengers were placed in fear of imminent physical injury and could not convince Kathryn to stop. Kathryn was arrested for Reckless Driving, Fail to stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer, and Assault 3rd x3 and remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On 7/25/2024, Soldotna Alaska Wildlife Troopers were notified of two individuals fishing at the Tustumena Boat Launch on the Kasilof River. When Alaska Wildlife Troopers arrived, the individuals already left the area. An in-depth investigation revealed the two individuals, later identified as William Scott, age 64, from Nevada, and Travis Somner, age 64, from Oklahoma, were fishing for rainbow trout using bait. Per an emergency order, bait was not allowed on the river. The individuals also caught 7 Dolly Varden. They threw the Dolly Varden on the shore and left them to waste. Both individuals were charged with the waste of Sport caught fish and Sportfishing General Season citation. A mandatory court appearance citation was filled out with the Kenai Courthouse for both individuals. A general Season citation for $120 was filled out with the Kenai Courthouse for both individuals. In August of 2024, both individuals pleaded no contest and were fined $500 each. They also paid for their other citations.

On 9/29/24, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post responded to a report of two females taking coho salmon from Indian River near the Sitka Raptor Center. Investigation revealed Erin Hansen, age 58, and Sharon Corbett, age 54, both of Sitka, had unlawfully retained a total of four coho salmon in the fresh water of Indian River. Hansen and Corbett were cited for sport fish closed season with bail set at $160 each in the district court at Sitka. The salmon were seized for donation to a charity.
