On September 25, 2024, at 6:54 am, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a single ATV accident in the village of Kivalina. It was reported that a male, later identified as Larry Swan, age 22, had been found unresponsive in the ditch after rolling his ATV. Larry was not conscious or breathing at the time he was found and was transported to the local clinic by first responders where he was declared deceased. Alcohol does not appear to have been involved. Larry was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The body is being sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. Next of kin was on scene.
