UPDATE, 3 p.m. Nov. 24, 2025: Effie Kemp was located deceased. Her next of kin have been notified. Reference Incident AK25117747 for additional information.
ORIGINAL: Alaska State Troopers are asking for assistance locating 78-year-old Effie Kemp. Troopers received a report on Nov. 24, 2025 at 10:50 a.m. that she walked away from an assisted living home on Palo Verde Road in Fairbanks around 9 a.m. Kemp walks with a cane. She is Alaska Native, weighs roughly 125 lbs., is 5’6” tall, and has gray hair and no teeth. Kemp was last seen wearing a long black coat, black mittens and tennis shoes. Anyone with information about Kemp's whereabouts is asked to contact troopers at 907-451-5100.
