UPDATE 9/27/21:

Ground searchers, Alaska State Troopers helicopter and a military helicopter continued searching throughout the weekend and Gary Fisk has not been located. Search participants include: Alaska Mountain Rescue Group (AMRG), Alaska Search and Rescue Dogs (ASARD), Alaska Solstice Search Dogs (AKSSD), Nordic Ski Patrol, Chugach State Parks, Eagle River Nature Center, RCC and 210th Air National Guard, and Alaska State Troopers. Aerial searching will continue as weather and asset availability permits.

On 09/23/21 the Alaska State Troopers were advised that Gary Fisk, age 74 of Eagle River, was overdue from his hike along Crow Creek Pass Trial. Fisk started the Crow Pass Trail at Girdwood on Tuesday, 09/21/21 with a goal of arriving at the Eagle River Nature Center on 09/23/21. As of 9/25/21, Fisk has not arrived. Fisk is described as an experienced outdoorsman and was prepared for a 3-day hike but weather conditions deteriorated with heavy snow and trees down in the area. On 09/24/21 State Park Rangers searched the first three miles of the trail from Eagle River via ATV. Low cloud cover had impeded aerial searches. On 09/25/21 weather permitted a helicopter to search by air as well volunteer Alaska Mountain Rescue Group ground search parties, including a K9 team.
