On October 5, 2021, at approximately 1424 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a residential fire on West Stinson Road in Willow. Alaska State Troopers and the Willow Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at the single-family home. At approximately 1645 hours, human remains were found inside the structure by the Willow Fire Department. The origin and cause of the fire are currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. The residence is a total loss. No other injuries were reported to firefighters or Troopers. The identity of the deceased will be released after the remains have been positively identified by the State Medical Examiner and next of kin have been notified.
