Dispatch Text:

On November 8, 2021, at approximately 1842 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks were notified that a Ford SUV had rammed and shot at a Jeep SUV near Ester. Alaska State Troopers immediately responded and contacted the adult female driver and sole occupant of the Jeep SUV on the Parks Highway. Her vehicle had been severely damaged and contained multiple bullet holes, the driver was not injured during the incident. A preliminary investigation revealed that the female driver was rammed multiple times by the Ford SUV. The driver of the Ford SUV repeatedly shot a semiautomatic rifle at the Jeep. Troopers began efforts to locate the Ford SUV and driver. As they were searching the area, 34-year-old Ester resident, Anthony Frey, called Troopers to report that he had run a vehicle off of the road. Troopers responded to Frey’s location and conducted an investigation. Frey made incoherent statements as to why he rammed and shot at the Jeep, however, there is no clear connection between the drivers. Investigation revealed that Frey also shot the hood of his own Ford SUV during the incident. Frey was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on charges of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the First Degree, two counts of Assault in the Third Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. This case is still under investigation and additional charges are being considered.
