On 03/26/2024, the James Nall and Chance Blankinship each plead guilty to one count of Advertising as a Big Game Transporter Without a License. Both were placed on 3 years of probation, and each was ordered to pay a $15,000 fine with $7,500 suspended.

In August of 2022, Coldfoot AWT opened a criminal investigation into Arctic Compass LLC and its owners, Chance Blankinship of Crossett Arkansas and James Nall of Bastrop Louisiana. AWT's investigation revealed Mr. Blankinship and Mr. Nall had transported hunters to the field on the North Slope and advertised as a big game transporter without a valid transporter license. The investigation was referred to the Fairbanks District Attorneys office. Mr. Blankinship and Mr. Nall have charged with 2 counts of Unlawful Acts for transporting big game hunters without holding a transporter license and for advertising as a transporter without a license.
