On 01/04/2025 at approximately 10:12 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an expected death in the village of Shishmaref. 90 YOA Clarence Tocktoo passed away at home of natural causes. No foul play is suspected. The State medical Examiner's Office has been notified, next of kin was present, and the remains have been released to the family.
