On 7/6/2025 at approximately 0544 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers were patrolling the Kasilof River. An investigation revealed that Mathew Walters age 43 from Kasilof, a registered guide, was conducting a guided sportfishing trip on the Kasilof River. Mathew Walters was seen fishing from the shore in an area where guides are not allowed to fish. Mathew Walters was issued a mandatory court citation, and it was filed with the Kenai Court.
