In August, the Alaska State Troopers received a report that William Barclay, age 60 of Talkeetna, had pointed a firearm at two juveniles who were riding ATVs on a trail near Talkeetna. When troopers responded to arrest Barclay at his residence, he refused to surrender and fled into the woods armed with a long gun and was unable to be immediately located and arrested. An Arrest Warrant was granted for Assault III and Reckless Endangerment, and on September 26, 2025, at 8:30 am, the Alaska State Troopers South Central SWAT Team took Barclay into custody for his warrant, at his Talkeetna residence, without incident. During the service of a residential search warrant, multiple firearms were seized.
