On August 17, 2025, at 6:46pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an injured hiker on Little O'Malley Peak, near Anchorage. A local female in her sixties had been injured close to the top of the mountain. Other hikers were able to immobilize the injury and carry her to a landing area where she was picked up by Helo-3 and one Wildlife Trooper. The hiker was transported to an Anchorage area hospital for treatment of her injuries.
