On 9/1/25 at approximately 1127 hours, an individual called AST to report that they were just involved in a damage only motor vehicle collision and that the other vehicle involved had left the scene. AST responded to the area and searched for the vehicle but was unable to locate it that day. While on routine patrol on 6/10/26 in Homer, AST locates the suspect vehicle involved and conducts a traffic stop. An interview with the driver, Anthony L. Maurer (85 YOA) of Homer shows that he left the scene of the damage only motor vehicle collision on 9/1/25 without exchanging the necessary information. Maurer was issued a summons for Leaving the Scene of an Accident on 7/6/26.
