Update: Dacia Mitchell was located around 6 p.m. after extensive search efforts. She was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Original: On Sept. 12, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received a report around 1:10 a.m. that 29-year-old Dacia Mitchell was missing. Mitchell was last seen around 3 p.m. on Sept. 11, when she was reported to have walked into a wooded area near Mile 6 of Petersville Road in Trapper Creek. Troopers, Wasilla police and medics responded to the area and searched, including by drone, but did not find her. Search efforts continued on Sept. 12 with the Petersville Search and Rescue, Talkeetna Fire Department and MAT+SAR. Anyone with information regarding Mitchell’s whereabouts is asked to call Troopers at 907-745-2131.
