UPDATE: Alaska State Troopers identified the missing person as 78-year-old Effie Kemp. Foul play is not suspected to be a factor in her death.

ORIGINAL: On 11/24/25 at approximately 1050 hours, the Fairbanks Alaska State Troopers received a report of an elderly person who walked away from and assisted living home in the Fairbanks area.  Troopers, PAWS and the AST helicopter responded.  At approximately 1323 hours, the person was located deceased near the facility.  Next of Kin were notified and the remains will be sent to the State Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy.
