On June 29, 2026, Alaska State Troopers arrested 47-year-old Mountain Village resident Alphonsus Chiklak on two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 1st Degree and one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the 2nd Degree. The investigation began on January 9, 2026, due to the filing of an historical sexual abuse report.
