In January 2026, AWT began a hunting residency investigation on Ross Boring, age 65 of Montana. Investigation determined Boring claimed to be an Alaska resident for many years, in violation of AS16.05.415. In August 2026, Boring was charged with the following:
5 counts of False Statement on License Application
5 counts of Taking Moose Over Limit
9 counts of Unlawful Possession/Transportation of Big Game
9 counts of Failure to Purchase a Locking Tag
9 counts of Hunting Without a Valid License
Arraignment was set for September 9, 2026, in the Bethel Court.
