On July 5, 2026, at 2:44 pm, the Alaska State Troopers in Seward were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of the Seward and Sterling Highways in Moose Pass. A Toyota Prius failed to stop at the stop sign and pulled in front of a southbound semi-truck, resulting in a T-bone crash. The driver of the Prius was flown to Anchorage for medical care via helicopter, and the passenger was transported by ground. The semi driver was not injured. The Seward and Sterling Highways were intermittently closed while extrication and investigation took place.
