Dispatch Text:

On August 19, 2026, the Alaska State Troopers recovered a stolen 2017 Dodge Durango at a residence on 1075 Charlotte Lane in Fairbanks after it was located being sold for parts online. Troopers contacted the seller, Dustin Deals (37) of Fairbanks, and confirmed the vehicle’s VIN matched one previously reported stolen. The vehicle was found heavily dismantled, and Deals gave conflicting explanations about how it arrived on his property while admitting he had been selling parts from it and made no attempt to notify the owner or law enforcement of the vehicle being found. Deals was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center for Theft in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.
