Update: On September 16 at 4:00 pm, Bethel Search and Rescue located the remains of the two missing individuals. Bethel Police Department is maintaining responsibility for the case.
Original: On September 15, 2026, at 4:00 pm, the Alaska State Troopers were notified by Bethel Police Department of two missing individuals whose boat had overturned near Steamboat Slough. Bethel Search and Rescue has been notified, and search efforts are underway.
