On 10/16/2026, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point responded to the area of Anchor Point beach for a report of a disturbance. Subsequent investigation determined that during a verbal altercation, Nicholas Epperson, (40 years old) had discharged a handgun in a threatening manner. Nicholas also had a prior Felony conviction which prohibited him from possessing a concealed firearm. Nicholas was arrested and remanded to Homer Jail on 3x counts of Assault in the 3rd degree and 2x counts of MIW 3 - Felon in Possession.
