On October 18, 2026, between noon and 5:19 pm, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Cordova PD, Cordova Volunteer Fire Department, US Forrest Service, with the help of 40 volunteers, located and assisted two hunters out of the field, from the Power Creek basin, near Cordova. One had suffered a minor injury while transporting their quarry back to camp and the other had become soaked while trying to get to the first hunter, to assist.
