Dispatch Text:

On October 19, 2026, at 9:06 am, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a head-on collision at mile 115 of the Parks Highway, in front of the Three Bears Gas Station in Trapper Creek. Troopers responded and a preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2018 Subaru Forester operated by 38-year-old Fairbanks resident Sasha Hart was traveling south on the Parks Highway and crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a white 2008 Ford F-250, which was traveling north. Sasha Hart and her husband, 41-year-old Fairbanks resident David Hart were both pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel. Their toddler sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an Anchorage hospital. Next of kin have been notified and are responding to the hospital where the toddler was transported. The Parks Highway was shut down for about 5 hours, but traffic was able to detour around the scene through the Three Bears Parking Lot, causing only minor delays. The investigation is ongoing.
