On November 6, 2026, at 12:50 pm, the Alaska State Troopers were notified that a 16-year-old male was located unresponsive near Pillar Creek Beach. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful, and the male was declared deceased. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin have been notified, and the male's body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.
