    On 11/27/2024 at about 2220 hours, Seward AST received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle on a residential road in Seward. The complainant said that the vehicle was unoccupied, reeked of alcohol, and had a handgun on the front passenger seat. Seward AST responded and contacted Boris Nikolov, 28 YOA of Seward, with the vehicle. The investigation revealed that Boris drove under the influence (DUI), crashed his vehicle, and had a loaded handgun in the interior of his vehicle while intoxicated. Boris was placed under arrest for one count of DUI and one count of misconduct involving weapons (MIW) in the fourth degree. Boris was remanded to Spring Creek Correctional Center on the aforementioned charges and was later released on his own recognizance.

    On 07/23/2023, Seward AST initiated an investigation into Michele Spiers’, fifty-eight YOA of Seward, and John Hoogland’s, sixty-eight YOA of Seward, involvement with the sale of illegal drugs. On 09/19/2024, Seward AST and AWT executed a search warrant on a residence in Seward. The investigation revealed John and Michele were in possession of fentanyl pills, fentanyl powder, heroin, methamphetamine, hydrocodone, LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, dronabinol, and suboxone with intent to distribute. Seward AST also discovered packaging materials, digital scales, $1,674 dollars, multiple cell phones, counterfeit money, and ledgers detailing the sales of illegal drugs for over four years. Evidence seized during the search warrant implicated numerous other individuals and further charges are expected to follow. Michele and John were placed under arrest for three counts of misconduct involving controlled substances (MICS) in the second degree, four counts of MICS in the third degree, and one count of MICS in the fourth degree. Additionally, Michele was charged with one count of violating her conditions of release. Michele and John were remanded to Wildwood Pretrial without bail. The investigation is ongoing.

    UPDATE: As a result of Seward AST’s continued investigation, John “Mitch” Spiers, 39 YOA of Seward, was identified as an accomplice of Michele Spiers and John Hoogland. The investigation revealed that John Spiers played a significant role in the purchase, transportation, and sale of illegal drugs. Seward AST has executed numerous search warrants during this investigation that have implicated several other individuals. Further arrests are expected to be made in relation to this case. On 11/27/2024, Seward AST filed charges for three counts of MICS in the second degree, four counts of MICS in the third degree, and one count of MICS in the fourth degree. John Spiers was remanded to Anchorage Correctional Complex on the aforementioned charges with a bail of $50,000 dollars.

    On 11/29/2024 at about 1525 hours, Seward AST conducted a traffic stop on the Seward Highway in Moose Pass. The driver was identified as Cameron Harvey, 32 YOA of Kasilof. The investigation revealed Cameron was driving with a revoked license (DWLR), without vehicle insurance, and failed to transfer the title of his vehicle. Additionally, Cameron was in possession of methamphetamine. Cameron was on conditions of release and had a prior misconduct involving controlled substances (MICS) conviction. Cameron was placed under arrest and later remanded to Spring Creek Correctional Center on the aforementioned charges without bail.

    On November 29th, 2024, at approximately 1119 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a collision near the Palmer Courthouse. Investigation revealed Brandon Belanger, age 30, of Wasilla, intentionally damaged his ex-girlfriend's vehicle. Brandon was arrested and remanded at MSPT.

    On 11/28/24 at 1754 hours, AST responded to a residence near Wasilla for a report of an unconscious male. Upon Arrival, a 77-year-old male was found deceased. No foul play was suspected, Next of Ken was notified.

    On November 29, 2024, at 10:45 am, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a two-vehicle collision blocking the northbound lanes of the Glenn Highway at the Knik Riber Bridge. Troopers responded and opened one lane for travel at 11:08 am and fully opened up both lanes at 11:41 am. A preliminary investigation determined that two northbound vehicles collided due to icy conditions. No injuries were reported to the Troopers.

    On 11/29/2024 at approximately 1248 hours, AST received a request for a Welfare Check on Miles Kull, age 28 of Houston. Miles was located at a residence on Duke Dr. in Houston. Investigation revealed Miles had an outstanding APD arrest warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of OUI. Miles was arrested at the scene without incident and remanded into MSPT where he was held on $50 bail.

    On 11/27/2024 at approximately 08:05 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a death at Red Dog Mine. 58 YOA Robert Chandler of Wasilla was found deceased in his room that morning. No foul play is suspected. The State Examiner's office was notified, next of kin has been notified, and the remains have been released to the family.

    On November 29, 2024, at approximately 0056 hours, the Alaska State Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling Northbound on Badger Road, going 16 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. The driver was identified as Christopher McCray, age 31, of North Pole. After further investigation, Christopher was arrested for DUI. He was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

    On November 25, 2024, at 1713 hours. I responded to the area of Hoselton road for a welfare check. Caller said there was a lady nodding off in her vehicle and the blinkers and wipers randomly turn on. Caller did observe a female driver, later identified as Lindsay Outwater driving around the parking lot. This incident is closed by arrest. Lindsay is charged with the crime of AS28.35.030 (a) (2) Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage, a class A Misdemeanor.

    UPDATE 8:35 pm: Troopers have detained the adult male near mile 1380. We appreciate the assistance from the motorists in the area.

    ORIGINALThere is a large Alaska State Trooper presence near mile 1380 of the Alaska Highway as Troopers search for an adult male who is considered armed and dangerous in the area. Troopers ask motorists to avoid the area and not pick up any hitchhikers or pedestrians in the area. There are no road closures at this time.

    If you see an adult male pedestrian in the area of mile 1380, please do not approach him and contact the Alaska State Troopers at (907) 451-5100.

    Type: Warrant Arrest, Fail to Yield, Reckless Driving

    Dispatch Text:

    On 11-29-24, Delta Junction AST attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a headlight out. Joseph Tickett, age 25, was known to have association with the vehicle and had three active warrants. AST attempted to turn around and catch up to the vehicle and it continued at a speed well over the speed limits. Delta AST caught up to the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and drove northbound on the Richardson at varying speeds. A PIT maneuver was attempted near mile 300 of the Richardson Hwy. Due to the icy road conditions, the vehicle was able to continue. The driver was observed to be Joseph. The vehicle continued southbound and was spiked near mile 1380 of the Alaska Hwy. The vehicle went into the snow bank due to the spike and the occupants foot bailed. The temperature was approximately -30 degrees and Joseph gave himself up after being in the woods for approximately an hour. He was placed under arrest for his three warrant, and Failure to Stop and Reckless Driving. The pursuit last approximately 90 miles and several hours.
