On January 11th, 2026 at approximately 2255 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) were on routine patrol when a blue Hyundai Tiburon was observed driving in Anchor Point and it was known the driver of that vehicle had a suspended driver's license. AST initiated a traffic stop of that vehicle in Anchor Point and identified the driver as Kelsey Quinn, age 53 of Anchor Point. A check in APSIN/NCIC showed Kelsey had a suspended driver's license. Kelsey was issued a summons for one count of Driving While License Suspended.

On 1/11/26 at approximately 1300, Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Buick sedan for a moving violation on Cottonwood Loop in Wasilla. The vehicle failed to stop as soon as practicable, traveling more than a quarter of a mile while continuing to commit the moving violation. The driver, Jodi Scoggin, age 51 of Wasilla, was issued a misdemeanor citation for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer II, and released to appear in court at a later date.

On January 10, 2026, at 6:09pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a two-vehicle head on collision near Mile 301 of the Parks Highway, just south of Nenana. Investigation determined a Toyota Highlander collided with a transit van. A total of six individuals, four adults and two youth were injured, which required transport to a Fairbanks hospital, with injuries ranging from serious to minor. Extrication was required to remove some of the patients from the vehicles. One adult was subsequently transferred to a Seattle hospital. Nenana Fire and Rescue, Clear Space Force Fire and EMS, Anderson Fire and EMS, McKinley Village Fire Departments and State Troopers all responded to the scene. The Parks Highway was closed for approximately two and a half hours. Weather and blowing snow are considered to be a contributing factor.

On 01/11/26 Alaska State Troopers responded at approximately 12:20 p.m. to a reported disturbance at a residence on Doyle Drive in North Pole. Upon arrival, Troopers detained Adam Verbus after observing aggressive behavior and evidence of property damage. Verbus was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fifth Degree, and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree.
