    On 1/1/2025, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point received a report of historical abuse in the Anchor Point area. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of James Schollenberg of Anchor Point (68 years of age). Schollenberg was remanded to Homer Jail on 2x counts of Assault in the 3rd degree, and 1x count of Assault in the 4th degree. This investigation is ongoing.

    On 01/02/2026, AST received a report of a Burglary in progress. AST responded to the area and investigation revealed that Michael Poirier (43-year-old male) had committed the crimes of Burglary in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, and Theft in the Third Degree. AST located and arrested Michael, the property was returned, and Michael was transported to MSPT where he was remanded on the above charges and held without bail.

    Type: Fraudulent use of Access Device, other Fraudulent ID charges, & MICS 6th

    On 01/01/2026 AST and Denali National Park Rangers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle and contacted the vehicle near Mile 228 Parks Highway.  During the investigation AST contacted Zihao Jin, age 20 from Florida and he was in possession of a fake ID and marijuana.  Jin was arrested and remanded to FCC and held without bail pending arraignment for Obtaining an access device by Fraudulent means, Fraudulent use of an ID card, Possession of Fraudulent ID, and MICS 6th.  Further investigation determined the occupant of the vehicle made a mistake and took the wrong vehicle from the Airport car lot in Fairbanks.  The vehicle was returned to the owner.
