  On March 6, 2026, at 4:42 pm, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of an unresponsive female in Big Lake. Despite life-saving efforts, the female was pronounced deceased on scene. The female was identified as Jessica Wesley, age 36, of Big Lake. Next of kin has been notified. The State Medical Examiner responded and took possession of the body. Based on the initial investigation, Alaska State Troopers believe drugs were involved. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

  On 03/09/2026 at approximately 1223 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle in the ditch off W. King Arthur Drive. AST responded and contacted Mitchel Wooton, age 66 of Anchorage. Investigation revealed Wooton was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an impairing substances. Wooton was placed under arrest for DUI. Wooton was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial, where he was remanded. Bail was set at his own recognizance.

  Dispatch Text:

  On 3/9/26 at approximately 1831 hours, AST received a report of a disturbance at a residence in Sutton. Troopers responded and investigation revealed that Vernon Plowman age 46 of Sutton, had assaulted a household member. Vernon was arrested for Assault 4 DV and transported to MSPT.

  Dispatch Text:

  On January 9, 2026, Alaska State Troopers were notified of an assault that happened on January 7, 2026, at the Anvil Mountain Correctional Center in Nome. Ten inmates assaulted three other inmates during a premediated and gang-related attack. None of the three victims were seriously injured and correctional officers intervened and stopped the assaults within minutes. As a result of the AST's investigation, nine inmates were charged with Riot and  Assault, including:
