  On 4/17/2026 at approximately 1616 hours, Court Services Officers assigned to Palmer Judicial Services remanded Jason Michael West, 39, of Wasilla for an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was for two counts of Assault II. West was remanded on the warrant while in custody at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility for unrelated charges. Bail was set at $5000 cash performance and court approved conditions of release.

  On 04/16/2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a disturbance near residence near Badger Road and an investigation revealed that Benjamin Villeponteaux had commited an assault. He was safely taken into custody and was transported to FCC and charged with Assault in the Fourth Degree.

  On April 17, 2026, at 2:24 pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a report that three men had been skiing a snow chute at Falls Creek Trail when two of them were caught in an avalanche and self-extracted. Both men were injured. AST Helo 3 responded with one member of the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group (AMRG). Helo 3 was able to land at the scene and transport one of the injured men to a landing zone near mile 106 of the Seward Highway, where he was transported by ground by the Anchorage Fire Department to an Anchorage hospital. At 5:51 pm, Helo 3 transported the second victim to an Anchorage hospital.

  On 4/17/26 at approximately 0909 hours Alaska State Troopers contacted Gage B. Flyum (age 29 from Anchoage) at customer service in the Nesbett Courthouse. Investigation revealed that Flyum had a $500.00 warrant for his arrest for Theft II. Flyum was arrested on the warrant and remanded to the Anchorage Jail.
