On 11/27/24 at 1600 hours, Alaska State Trooper's received a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) Rpt that Alya Svetlana Ferreira, age 53 of Nikiski, was driving toward Nikiski and was possibly intoxicated. At 1645 hours, the vehicle was located and stopped at the Kenai Spur Hwy and Industrial Ave in Nikiski. Subsequent investigation led to Ferreira's arrest for DUI. She was transported and remanded at Wildwood pretrial with a $500 bail.

Location: Big LakeType: Warrant, Hindering and stolen propertyDispatch Text:
On 12/1/2024 AST conducted a warrant service on a residence off Vine in the area of Big Lake for Mathew Rollins age 36 of Big Lake. While attempting to locate Rollins his girlfriend Tanner Granholm age 29 of Wasilla intentionally concealed him from AST while knowing he had active warrants for his arrest and is a suspect of a vehicle theft and fraud from Wasilla Police. Mathews was eventually located, and he was arrested for his active warrants which consisted of theft 2 and burglary and remanded to Matsu Pretrial with a bail of $10,000. Tanner was placed under arrest for hindering in the 1st degree and remanded to Matsu Pretrial with no bail. While at the residence AST located several items which were reported stolen. The theft investigation is ongoing.

Location: Big LakeType: Vehicle collisionDispatch Text:
On 12/1/2024 AST responded to the intersection of Parks Hwy and Big Lake Rd for a vehicle collision. The investigation showed that a vehicle was in the turn lane on Parks Hwy to turn south on Big Lake Rd with a flashing yellow light. The driver then made its turn and struck another vehicle that was traveling east on Parks Hwy with a green light. The driver of one of the vehicles was transported to Matsu Regional with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle that was turning onto Big Lake Rd from Parks Hwy was cited for due care to avoid a collision and having no insurance.

On 12/1/2024 at about 1832 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop for a headlight out on a 2020 Chevy Trax sedan near mile 247 of the Parks Hwy. Investigation revealed the driver, ANTHONY FISCHER (age 30 of Fairbanks) was driving while his license was Revoked, and the passenger and owner of the vehicle, MIKKI HAMILTON (age 34 of Fairbanks) had knowingly allowed ANTHONY an unlicensed driver to drive in violation of AS28.15.281(b). Both ANTHONY and MIKKI were given mandatory court appearance notices and released with a promise to appear as required in court.

Update: The deceased male driver and sole occupant of the Jeep is identified as Daniel Dowhitt, age 38*, of Fairbanks. Next of kin has been notified.
Update: The deceased female is identified as Aditi Subramanian, age 27, of Atlanta, Georgia. Aditi was a passenger in the Toyota Highlander. Next of kin has been notified.
On 12/1/2024 at 1812 hours, AST began receiving multiple 911 calls of a head-on collision in the area of Chena Hot Springs Road and Esro Road in Fairbanks. Initial reports indicate three vehicles were involved, and occupants of all three vehicles sustained injuries. A male and female were pronounced deceased on the scene. Seven additional people were transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. 2 of those people have been transported to Anchorage via Life-Med with life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is still ongoing. At this point, it is unknown if alcohol or drugs is a factor. AST is still attempting to locate and notify the next of kin for the deceased. The road was closed for approximately four hours while Troopers conducted the investigation.

Location: KodiakType: TAKE WATERFOWL FROM MOVING POWERBOAT, FAIL TO CANCEL PERMITDispatch Text:
On 11/17/2024 Kodiak AWT received a report of a power skiff unlawfully taking waterfowl while under power from a powered skiff in Women’s Bay in Kodiak. Investigation revealed that Sean McCarthy, age 35 of Wasilla, and Lindsey Perich, age 39 of Wasilla, had both attempted to take waterfowl from a power skiff under power. McCarthy also harvested an Emperor goose and failed to cancel his permit immediately and before leaving the kill site. McCarthy was issued a citation for Failure to Cancel Permit with a fine of $150, and Perich was issued a citation for Take Waterfowl from Moving Powerboat with a fine of $120.
